|PMP||Our 2011 JK leaked from the day we picked it up - driver and passenger sides. wIt seems to be more prevalent after it has been driven in the rain. We have done our own water tests and one of the places where we found it leaked was when we sprayed under the hood on the front firewall. You could see the water coming in (one person was inside, one person was spraying) Dealer said they fixed this. Still leaks. Leak manual said that the fender areas behind the rear tires could be the problem. Dealer said they took the fenders off and sealed any holes that were 'taped' Still leaks. This is a hardtop - never had softtop. When we sprayed teh hardtop it did not leak. we sprayed the doors, the windows, and they did not leak. Where the heck is the water coming from? I am getting so tired of using the shop vac to get rid of the water!|

water leak on passenger floor
Hello , I think i have the leak fixed that appears to come over the sill on the passenger side. I sprayed some water at the corner where the door and top meet. It travels down and right into a the rubber on the inside frame of the the body,which channels it to the inside of the jeep like a funnel. It runs down the inside lip(between plastic and metal) and crosses over the bottom plastic and onto the floor. It makes it look like its coming through the bottom of the door and over the sill,but thats not the case. I will post some pics to show exactly what i'm tryin to say. My drivers side rubber is tight and tight against frame,passenger side seems stretched out and loose.I bought some rubber moulding and covered it up and no leak. I ran this moulding from the rubber triangle at the top corner to just past the next rubber seal. I sprayed water for 5 minutes straight with no leak.

I have a 2011 Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited (still with a year warnt. left) that has a small leaking problem on the left passenger side. Carpet damp after hard rain for hours. Talked to former owners and they said they had it to the dealership mutiple times and got part of it corrected but not all. They claim that an engineer from Jeep also came in to look it over but did not fix it. They feel it is in the top and shims were added to the rear of the hard top but still leaks. Jeep would not replace the top. So now it is my turn to see what I can get done. Going to shop on Monday. Any thoughts/help are welcome. As you can see from the picture I have a great looking jeep and want the issue fixed.

It is really interesting that majority of the leaks are on the passenger side, as down here our are mostly also on the passenger side too, yet ours are RHD so it the other side....
The dealer has tried a few different things over the last 18 months and touch wood I believe is finally leak free. Had the doors re-aligned, had the door seal replaced, had dodgey looking foam strips added to the top corner (which fell off before making it leak heaps worse) then lastly they got a new foam seal kit and all good..

2011 Rubicon leaking at passenger door solution
weds , I having the entire floor coated with linex. I'm tired of trying to dry out the floor , its a jeep , why would you want carpet in a jeep . So after weds , if I get a bit of water , I can dry it out w a towel and I'm good to go . Lets face it , if they leak when they are new , I don't care what the fix is , it gonna leak down the road . I got a quote of 575.00 , they do all the prep work etc ... I just drop it off and pick it up . Its worth 575.00 , to not waste my time w a dealership .

|rcwheelman||I was back to two dealers in a 6 th month period with my 2011 wrangler 4 door unlimited sport 6 times. On the 7th time of leaking I had just left dealership #2 in a rain storm. Jeep proceeded to leak on the way home. When I called my service manager his response was, "you have to be kidding". No I said. He said ok when do you want to bring it back. I said never. I'm done. 6 times. Same leak. 3 fixes ago I was well within lemon law territory. Since at this point the original dealer and corporate refused to buy back the vehicle, I called my lawyer. This was 3 months ago. As of today, Chrysler has lost the case. Paid off the loan. Taken the jeep back and paid me 15000.00. I am now driving a 2012 4Runner with no leaks, and I'm quite happy with my purchase. Good luck to all who are currently going through the leak problem.|

Leaking Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Sorry this is so long but I wanted to state my leaking problem (adventure).
I have a 2011 Wrangler Unlimited 4 door, purchased in February 2011. I first noticed the floor on the right side being wet in July 2011. Took it to the dealer and they completed RRT 11062 per Chrysler. This included a new seal, stuffer, tape kit and glue. In October, returned to dealer with wet floor mat on right side. Tech 22 found right front door out of adjustment and adjusted door. November returned to dealer with wet floor on right side. Tech 47 could not duplicate concern unless water pressure was on maximum and nozzle was placed against seal. Ordered door seal for warranty repair. December returned to dealer with both doors leaking. Tech 47 inspected for water leaks and found both front doors leaking. Padded weather stripping on both doors and rechecked. Leaks no longer present at this time. Returned to dealer on January 3, 2012 with wet floor on right side. Tech 47 found case number S1123000057 from Chrysler relating to condition: Water can follow door seal along weather strip channel and build up causing water to purge over the top of the sill. Tech 47 Checked vehicle for leaks and could not find any apparent leaks at this time with power washer. Preformed star case repair in effort to remedy wet floorboard issue. The star case repair has a diagnosis of (as stated above): It is possible that water may follow the door........ This case provides all the necessary information and the latest methods to make effective repairs. Well, the “effective repairs” are: Measure 30 inches from the edge of door lip seal at A-post mirror area. (end of triangular flap). More specifically, make a cutout on door seal, directly inline with where water purges across the sill. Length of cut should be aprox 5/8 inch. So basically they cut a notch out of the door seal on the bottom of the door. I asked if this didn't compromise the integrity of the door seal? And Tech 47 said that this will let the water out if it builds up. I asked, “Won't this also let water, dirt, etc. in from the outside?” He said no. I asked, “So this is only a one way hole?” He said yes. I then told him if that is so, I have some ocean front property in Oklahoma I would like to sell him. He just laughed. This doesn't sound like a proper fix to me.

|filipinocracker||Lol, found out yesterday that mine now leaks on both sides. I'll be talking with the regional rep about replacing it next week. 4 unsuccessful attempts is just unacceptable. They either replace or I'm hiring an attorney.|

|hoopiron||2011 Wrangler Sport hard top leaking badly somewhere around the passenger side. Floor is soaked, front and back, when it rains. Dealer changed door seals but that did not help. Took it back again. Will get it back in a few days. Very frustrating. It drives great and we enjoy it but if this is not resolved quickly, I will never buy another Chrysler product. The dealership seems clueless.|

Have you all sent a certified letter to Chrysler? Each states lemon law is different. MD gives the dealership 4 attempts and the owner must send a certified letter to the Manufacturer giving them 30 days to fix the problem. After that, its legally a lemon. Mine is in the shop for the fourth time and Chrysler received my letter the 21st of October. If its not fixed by 21st of November then I'm requesting for my case to go to arbitrary so I can possibly get a replacement.

A new low for customer service
My 2011 Wrangler Rubicon 2-door is in the shop for the 5th time today in yet another attempt to repair the water leak that soaks the passenger-side floor every time it rains. I have pretty much given up any hope that the "fixes" will work but the dealership wanted to try this one last time before "going the other route" - whatever that is.
Meanwhile, I called Chrysler Group Customer Care two days ago to explore my options for resolving this problem with them. I had contacted them about ten days ago and spoke with a woman who said she would call the dealer for details of the problem and call me back in a day or two. When I had not received any call after eight days, I called them again and spoke with an arrogant young man who was absolutely useless. His only suggestion was that I try taking my Jeep to a different dealer. He eventually became so rude that I asked to speak with his supervisor. He refused to transfer me to his supervisor, adding that "a supervisor couldn't fix your water leak over the telephone." I told him that I would like to speak with a supervisor just the same and he refused again.
I have been a "served customer" for many years and have also worked extensively in customer service. I cannot remember a single time when a customer service rep has been so arrogant, rude and unhelpful. Congratulations, Chrysler.

|tramadoc||If its so simple to fix then why in the flying hell aren't they fixing it? You do as you like, I'm not doing anything that could come back on me and negate the warranty. And yes, any mods or repairs not made by a Chrysler service technician voids the warranty.|

It leaked a few drops here and there... Fixed it in less than 2 hours...
Well worth not calling and scheduling time with the dealer...
On a side note, I never recommended caulk and wouldn't due to it being a temporary fix to a permanent problem...
I get the "BRAND NEW VEHICLE" concept but the time involved in bothering the dealer with the trivial amount of time and $0 in parts seems... just not worth it....

|tramadoc||You shouldn't have to fix a BRAND NEW VEHICLE!!!! This is my 3rd CJ/Wrangler and neither of the first two leaked. I could care less what anyone thinks about me not wanting to fix it. Did I mention it's BRAND NEW!!!! As far as not wanting to turn wrenches, if to think that's the reason, you're wrong. I completely rebuilt and restored a 1970 GTO Judge. It's not not wanting to fix a minor problem myself, it's wanting the manufacturer to fix a vehicle they built that is still under warranty and BRAND NEW!!! If you want to fix your own vehicle, which isn't brand new, good on ya. If mine was used, which it's not, I would gladly fix it myself. Doing the things you have posted, such as caulk etc. would create problems with the dealer and manufacturer because it is STILL UNDER WARRANTY!!! Jesus. Brand new. Under warranty. Christ, can't anyone get that??? BTW, could care less about Ferrari's and other exotic cars because I don't own one nor do I know anyone who owns one. Since its still raining it looks like the Goat is gonna be getting some road time over the next week.|

That's why cars keep costing more because everyone refuses to spend their time on simple things...
Chrysler doesn't make the tops by the way...
I am now 8 for 9 on fixing these leaks...
The only one I couldn't fix was the result of a warped windshield which the dealer got replaced and all is well...
If everyone would just think about it they would realize 2 hours of their time and it would be fixed vs days in the shop and arguing with the dealer...
All it takes is tools, a six pack, and some effort... look at the instructions for installing the factory hardtop after delivery (should still be on Quadratec), basically loosen all the windshield bolts, rear top bolts (if hardtop), sound bar freedom panel bolts (may have to re-align the sound bar if they move too much in the end), the door hinges, freedom panel connection to the windshield, release soft top connection to the windshield, and let it all settle... Then if it's a soft top connect to the windshield as if you were putting the soft top up, apply light pressure to the windshield from the front toward the rear and tighten the windshield bolts to factory spec, then align the doors making sure the edges and seals are evenly seated, tighten hinge bolts, test with garden hose and tweak if necessary... for the hard top connect the freedom panels to the windshield, apply pressure from the front toward the back and tighten windshield bolts, go to the back and apply pressure from the back of the top to the front of the jeep, tighten rear top bolts, align doors, tighten hinge bolts...
Clean seals with Simple Green (use sparingly) or Tough Stuff spray cleaner.. AND your done...
Replacing the seals wont do a thing if the top, doors, and windshield are not properly aligned...
Ask any Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Maserati owner how many times their cars have been in the shop in the first 10k miles... chances are its more than your Jeep has been and they could buy 5-20 Jeeps for what they paid...
So from what I see all of you want something less expensive, hermetically sealed, convertible, off road capable, reliable, and fun all in the same vehicle... Well you cant have it because it doesn't exist...
Like I have said before, If you want it done right you need to do it yourself...
If you never want to lift a finger to fix minor issues the wrangler is not for you... Try a Toyota or maybe a Kia...

|tramadoc||Along the A-Pillar and the B-Pillar. It leaks like a sieve now since they "repaired" it. I could probably fix it myself but I paid a lot of money for this Jeep and I'm not going to fix something myself that is under the warranty. I have less than 10,000 miles on this thing. I have never had a problem like this before and I owned a 84 CJ-7 and an 89 YJ before this. Neither of them leaked and I just sold the YJ 2 years ago after having bought it brand new. I understand the people saying "It's a Jeep, its going to leak", but you know what? I bought it and I don't want it to leak so screw the "It's a Jeep, it's going to leak" people. When they pay my car payment, they can tell me to let the Jeep leak.|

|tramadoc||Yeah... Fat lot of good RRT 11-062 did. We just had a downpour and the leak is worse now than before. Talked with the dealership and Chrysler and they are still trying to remedy the problem by "attempting" to fix the leak. Next Wednesday is the earliest they can get me in. When is enough enough???|

|tramadoc||Well apparently they did the RRT-11-062 repair on my drivers side door. They removed and reseated left front door weatherstripping and reseated the channel. They also aligned the left front door cat hinges. They also had to order a new tailgate latch since the current latch doesn't keep the tailgate secure. This is what is causing the severe rattling from the back of my JK. Chrysler Group has been in constant contact with me over this. I was informed by them that if this doesn't fix the problems then I will have to continue to bring it in for repairs. I politely informed them that after bringing it in 3 times each for two separate problems I will be in touch with an attorney who will contact them and the two of them can work this crap out. And yes, I know it is a Jeep, but it is brand new, cost $25,000, and I expect a brand new vehicle that costs that much to not rattle and leak, irregardless of the make and model.|

|tramadoc||Hi guys. New user here. My 2011 Sport has had nothing but problems with leaks since day one. The header bar has been replace twice and now it's in the shop for the same leak. I was gone for three weeks and when I came back my carpet was wet and there was mold/mildew on the carpet on the drivers side under the seat and on the back drivers side carpet. Not only that but I also have it in the shop for a loose and rattling tailgate for the third time also. This doesn't even count the time I had to bring it in for the steering wheel controls that stopped working. I have been in contact with Chrysler and they have someone from their headquarters working with the dealership apparently to get this resolved. If they don't get it fixed this time, someone is giving me a new Jeep come hell or high water.|

Took it to the dealer today and have to go back on Wed. so they can repair the leak. After reading everyone elses post i am not feeling good about the outcome Will keep you posted !|

I got a recall notice in the mail last week. (but I have not even taken the soft top out of the packaging yet).
In Canada, the recall is for 'premature wearing of the soft top at the second and/or third roof bows'. All vehicles will receive roof bow shields to prevent excessive wear, and soft tops found with pin holes and/or tears will be replaced.
This is for some 2010 and 2011 model year Jeeps Wranglers equipped with 4 doors and a soft top or dual top.
The recall number in Canada is L24 SOFT TOP WEAR.

|docz||this will work ,cause when you close your doors on the jeep youll notice the door rubbers on the topside are recessed inside the drip rail about a quarter inch..if your door rubber on top is even with the softop when you close the door then you might have to adjust the door slightly so that the door rubber on the top is slightly recessed in side the drip rail on softop...then do the mod with the caulk..|
