Now I have to figure out how much will be affected by the new tire size. Also..by increasing the tire size am I also increasing stability in turning etc?

Howdy and welcome to WF.
The best thing you can do with your jeep is to enjoy it the way it is. A stock wrangler can go a lot of places you wouldn't take other vehicles. So, if you should be driving along and a side road catches your eye, go for it. Find out just how capable your jeep is. Then , over time, you'll get a feel for what, if anything, you want to mod on your baby.
BTW, yes, bigger tires would affect your mpg, but they also give you more ground clearance. I've found that that's really handy in the winter, when the snowplows have blocked the driveway with a snow/ice berm. I don't have to shovel, just drive right over it.

Ya Schenectady is only 25 mins from Latham..Latham is kind of smack in the middle of everything. I rarely go there unless its to visit a friend of mine..im not too fond of the place.

You say you never intend to offroad it. Once you get your jeep and start driving it your intentions may change. There is no need to put on larger tires if you intend it as a daily driver only, unless you just like the look of bigger tires. Larger tires will decrease your performance and gas mileage unless you regear to compensate for them. Your speedo and odometer will be off unless you put in a new speedometer gear.
I'd say drive it like it is until you encounter situations where you determine that you would like to change something. Read the threads on the forum and it will give you a good idea what mods are necessary to accomplish what you want your jeep to do for you.

Whats the benefit of using a larger tire?..say if I only intend on using this vehicle as a daily driver and never take it off roading, wouldnt putting a larger tire be counterproductive as a daily driver?
Sorry about the noobie question.

Welcome to WF
and you defintily have to wave at every jeep u see
and second get them frame and underbody caoted with por-15 or rhinoliner or somekind of other rust preventitive so it wil last FOREVER! (preferably before the first winter)
then when you need new tires get 31's instead of the stock 29.5's

First Wrangler - 3rd Jeep!!!
Heya everyone! I live in upstate NY and I am about to get my first wrangler. I will explain in a brief story below...
My mother bought a brand new 1995 Wrangler Sahara edition in 95. When she bought it, she got everything you could possibly get at the time including the 4L engine and ABS, AC etc. She bought the wrangler with a hard top that included the rear window defogger, 2 diff colored soft tops and the half steel doors and whatever else she could get.
She barely drove the jeep cept for short trips to work and the occasional grocery store etc. She then moved to AZ from NY about 2 years later with the jeep.
Fast forward to now..she still lives in AZ and has since then bought a new vehicle and cant bear to get rid of her beloved jeep that was perfectly maintained and cared for. (all oil changes on time and all maintenence records etc have been kept) Knowing that my dear mother has a soft spot for her awesome son (me of course) she has decided to GIVE me her Jeep.
I have made arrangements wth a transport company who is delivering my nice shiny impeccable Sahara wrangler on Oct 8th for a small fee of $1195.
The jeep only has 82,000 miles on it since mom rarely drove it over the years. It has only seen 2 horrible upstate NY winters so there is not a spec of rust or any type of damage to the vehicle since mom was so particular with it. There were minor customizations done to the vehicle and they were mostly cosmetic..new bumpers, locking console, radio..otherwise everything on it is completely stock as it was from the factory.
I looking forward to owning this Jeep and the fun that comes along with it..my 8yr old son cant wait to go for a drive in it with the top off! Everytime we drive by a wrangler he says..dad that looks just like yours!
Anyways..thats my story and im sticking to it. If anyone has any advice on a first time wrangler owner than lemme know. Maybe there are some must haves or must do's. I have been perusing the internet looking at accessories..upgrades..add-ons the works just to see whats out there.
