quadna71 any chance it is your tire(s) rubbing on the front lower control arms? i see that you have narrow tires but the taller they are the closer they get to the arms as well.

Steelman A while back, my "toe-in" was all messed up, and the tires would make all sorts of wierd noises when I turned. It was actually toed OUT about an inch (it was after an off roading trip ). I fixed the toe-in, and it seemed to resolve the issue I had.

EnigmaMan Lol Yeah that would def increase wheel hop during turns in 4wd due to the binding in the transfer case. all 4 wheels would be spinning at different speeds. Great combination for someting to break!

1BLKJP What will increase it is if you are driving on pavement in 4wd.

AzTJ Yes its common thing in solid front axle vehicles, but more prevalent in 4WD. I don't thinkg bigger tires would really increase it much if at all.

EnigmaMan I have driven many older cars in the past and know that its not good to hold it at the wheel lock and to back off a tiny bit from the wheel lock. Helps the power steering pump last longer lol.

However, the U-joints binding is a normal thing in these jeeps? Would larger tires exacerbate the issue?

AzTJ The "Errr...Errr" you describe is the power steering pump not being able to force any more fluid to the gear box.

And the skip or jerking is your U-joints binding. Its all pretty normal but I try not to steer all the way to the limits, puts a little strain on stuff.

Front Wheel Skip at full wheel lock??

Alright so, I have noticed (aside from these other suspension issues that Ive been dealing with) That when I turn the wheel to the full wheel lock (left or right) It feels like the front tires are skipping.

I can hear the tires go "err....errr... err..." when at full lock. (thick of a rear-locker diffy trying to do a turn that kind of feeling). I know these cheep Load range "B" tires that are on here arnt helping, but I didnt think this was normal. It has a 4" lift but Stock tires and rims. 29x9.5x30



The jeep has ~21,000 miles on it. COuld this be bad U-Joints? or something else that is binding on the front end? Is this normal?
