|Doch80||Late to the party, but good looking intake! I did that to my dakota in early 2000 but I used PVC versus ABS... it was too heavy in my opinion. I also bought some of that heat reflective tape and wrapped the intake in that to try to keep the temp down. Don't know if it worked, but it helped in my mind.|

|YJman||Hahaha I know what you mean about the horn. Mine is PVC and it does have the little tabs and letters haha. I just ignore them because I was going more for performance than looks.|

Also, I'm painting mine today! Priming it anyway... I don't wanna do black, but I don't want it to look cartoony either. I've already got that ridiculous horn under there.

|Yjwolf||What's the cost of the PVC version? My metal one ran about 30 bucks total|
|07-30-2011 08:39 PM|
Well, ran into a couple issues. One of them being the possibility of heat stroke. I also managed to drill a small hole in my foot....
Now, YJ man said to use 3/8ths adapters and 3/8ths fuel line.... DONT GET THE FUEL LINE. You need 1/2 in. PCV tube. About 3 feet is plenty. Another thing, you need to dremel off the thick side of the button flaps in your PCV valve in order for it to fit and face the opposite direction.
I swear every time I change my air filter I find something new in the air box...
Here it is assembled and installed, after I tightened down the clamps it started raining, so the painting will have to wait.
SOUNDS MEANNNN AT HIGHER RMPS.

|draarong2004||nice....must be a store issue in your local area, they have like 3 different lengths here you can buy, 6 foot, 12 foot and 15 foot iirc.....can't wait to see it finished, eventually i'll have to do this mod myself....specially since there's always alot of water around here where we wheel alot|

Air intake build and relocation pics
So, thanks to YJman or including some info on his CAI project I decided to head to the store and replicate his build. Here's the parts I got last night, with the exception of the fifteen or so feet of 3" ABS that the kid at home depot made me buy... Evidently you can't get a five foot piece cut anymore and pay for that... Stay tuned for more pics in the next couple hours.
