|stimpy||A kill switch and rig up your parking brake so you can attach a padlock to it. Don't forget the hood lock !|

The best alarm out there to prevent someone stealing your jeep by driving it away is to install a secret switch that cuts off the fuel or ignition, or both.
You don't even have to buy one. Just get a relay, find your fuel pump or ignition wires, hook up a switch, a fuse, and you're set. There are many pages on the net that will show you how to wire it.
I don't think an alarm would stop someone from grabbing something inside your jeep and running off. If you want you can add some simple flashing LEDs that will give the impression of an alarm.
Alarms are pretty much a waste in our cars because it's not like we can use them for keyless entry or remote start.

|shell||I forgot...my system is a 2-way which means my remote lets me know the status of the Jeep when I'm away. It does have a range limit, but I'm usually not that far away from it.|

|shell||I have one on my 2008. It's a viper 350 with what they call a proximity sensor for the interior. Works just like you said. It senses any movement inside the cab area. And it does work. At first too well. I've finally got it set just right. It works fine with the top down. The little module needs to be mounted inside as close to the middle of the Jeep as possible. Mine's mounted in the center console. It's about the size of a deck of cards, so it's not huge. I still manage to keep a bunch of stuff in the console even with it mounted there. It wasn't cheap, but I'm ok with that.|

I had one way back, it was not a cheap one either, meaning bird shat would not set it off
It also had a "warning" chirp so the perpetrator got the hint not to enter.
I know I did not answer you question as far as "the best" alarm. They have come so far since them. Even have pagers that alert you when something is or is about to go down.
Glad you got the jeep back

So after all of the excitement and sickness this weekend of getting my wrangler stolen, and returned. Time for an alarm. What one do you guys recommend? I saw one a few years back that had "perimeter sensing " on it, you could leave the top of your jeep off and if a hand or person passed into the cabin of the jeep the alarm would sound. Anyone seen this, does it work?
what works best for a jeep?
