You may have the Series 40 dual chamber. It is known for being loud and having interior drone. That is the one most places sell as they get deals on them.
Performance mufflers
Check out what you might have on here.

jrussblues I used the included clamps. They have held up nicely. I ditched the exhaust tip though.

NikeSwimming Sorry for bringing back an old thread! But I was wondering.. When installing, did you guys weld it on or use the clamps it came with? Which is better? I know welding would be best but will the clamps hold up to off roading and being a DD?

Thanks. Where did you find it on sale? I didn't see anything on their website (I may have missed it) and qtec and 4wp show their normal prices.

And thanks for the vids too. Those convinced me that this is what I am looking for.

Steve Loves Jeeps Hey guys, those who asked for videos I got 2 for ya!

1st one is the start up. Pretty basic, just to hear how it sounds.

2nd one is one I took during a short drive. My battery died in the middle of it so it has to do for now. It was taken with just a bikini top on the Jeep. The camera was just above the radio.

gpzjack ive got the banks cat back. I actually think something is wrong with it. Mine is pretty loud and drones really bad around 40mph.

redredjeep I've got Banks system (torque tube hedder, cat back Monster muffler all the way to the rear chrome turn down tip) on my 97 TJ and I love the sound & quality of this product.

Cons_Table I also have the banks system. Its a great set up and couldnt be more pleased with the sound. Like you said no drone, but deep and loud when you get your foot in it.

2,200K?! I didn't know the 4.0 could rev that high

Ive been looking for reviews on different exhausts/mufflers and I'll be checking out the banks when the time comes, keep us updated on the sounds and things as you break it in

Rogerg My experience with mufflers is they tend to get louder as they get a few weeks old.At least with the Flowmaster i have on the Jeep and Yukon...but i love it!!!

Review of my Banks Monster

My old muffler got taken out by a rock during one of my recent off roading adventures. I saw Banks was having a big 4th of July sale, so I decided to spoil my Jeep with a new muffler. I order the Stinger system, which was basically a catback. I got it for 20% off, plus free shipping (saved me a good $120). I finally got to installing it last week, due to working full time. It took me and my uncle just about an hour plus (way under the estimated time) to get the skids dropped, cut out the tail pipe and get that stubborn, rusted, hole-ridden stock muffler off. I fell in love with the sound of the Monster as soon as I turned the Jeep on. I drive 25 minutes to work everyday on a highway, going about 65 the whole way. There is no annoying drone when driving at a constant speed. But when you lay the pedal down, it has a nice roar to it. Even with the top down and doors off, it still doesn't overpower the radio or talking to the person next to you. So if you are looking for a muffler that will give you a nice sound, but won't drive you crazy on long rides, go with the Banks Monster
