|aroundincircles||I have no idea what you mean by jk and jku, are those suspension setups? or body styles? last jeep I was in was my brother's 2wd cherokee, that had a poorly installed lift that broke down, and he sold 2 months after buying it. I'm none to keen on the lift idea, but I wouldn't mind bigger tires. It just has the little 16" wheels, and i would keep those, I actually kinda like the way they look, but bigger tires on them for sure, if they will fit.|

|aroundincircles||Maybe, maybe not... Dealer promised to meet me on my price, but when I got there, they backpeddled, and gave me the price I told them no to as their absolute rock bottom price. you think they would be more desperate to get this off their lot? they've had it sitting there at least 12 or 13 months. what does it cost a dealer to keep a car on their lot that long?|

|NCJeepin||Since it's a JK, you should be able to run 33s with little to no rubbing. IMO, 31s would look tiny on it.|

Man I forgot how much I loved Saabs. Really a great car. 2006-2008 they had some crazy discounts. Super safe, great handling and power. Great warranty, especially if certified. Dealership I worked at also sold Buick and Pontiac. G6 and few others about same price and Saab was 6x the car. Sold one to my mother in law, she loved. Only got rid of bc 3 grandkids came after.
Wrangler so much fun. Doors off. Windows off. And even put together is a semi decent daily driver. But it does get better the less it has on. It's like it wants to be free.

Wife and I have had 5 saabs in the last 4 years, 2 of them saved our lives in bad accidents.
I recently sold my motorcycle which was my daily driver, and I want another "fun" vehicle. so i'm gonna replace it with a jeep, my wife still has her saab 9-5 aero.
Yeah, I have great luck with finding previous model year cars, my truck was an 06 bought in 07, paid 17 for it, our saab is an 08 bought in 09, paid 22k for it (34k sticker). and then this one. just trying to justify going back into payments (I have an 03 saab 9-5 that needs about 6k worth of repairs... but its paid off)
I think I'm gonna jump on it, IF they drop the price another k. then I am willing to pay that amount for it.

A lot of questions. I prolly can't answer all.
First, I love Saabs. I sold them for a couple years. 9-3 best value for any 30K car on market.
Yes you can run 31 no rub
The 6 speed is a very solid transmission and like most of life the better with a manual you are, the better it performs. My wrangler is a manual and I don't crawl but I do run trails occasionally no prob.
A new 2010? You will make out on warranty if so. Steal there. I sold a new 2006 gmc in 2008, as 2009 came out. Rare, but happens.
Soft tops are great. I love. And I live in warm weather but a lot of guys run them in northern states no issues. And on the jk they do well. My uncle has 2008 and his hard top in garage. Only uses soft, lives in va. Highway, winter, etc. Only uses soft.

I'm not a Wrangler owner yet, but I will be soon. I've been shopping and shopping and shopping... and I've come across a brand new 2010 unlimited still on the dealer lot, its a sport, manual, there are no options on it at all I think. The original MSRP I think was 25k, they've dropped the price to 21, and are giving me another 3k for my trade dropping the price to 18k. it seems like a good deal, but I've been driving and buying cars (mainly saabs) and know what they are worth. it seems like a great deal because i can't find used for that kind of money, but most of the used are rubicons/sharas etc but even used I'm looking at a price difference of nearly 10 grand.
I do plan on doing a lot of off road with it, but not rock crawling. mostly the family (wife and son) want to go camping in out of the way places. What are people's experiences with the 6 speed manuals? I know how to drive stick, so that's not a problem, but how is off roading with a stick?
also with a sport it has the stock tires it has 225/75 r16, what's the biggest tire I can reasonably put on there. those are 29's right? could I get away with a 31 with no rubbing? I had a chevy colorado single cab and I changed the stock tires out the 2nd month I had it cuz the stocks were terrible for anything, and i have a feeling these won't be much better. was able to go up pretty big with no rubbing. don't remember what as it was 4/ almost 5 years ago.
What's it like living with a soft top?
Thanks for all the info and help!
