|Wantstojeep||I am dropping a 283 SBC in my 93, new trans, axles. the 2.5 just doesn't have the power that i want. I'm doing to all for around $2000 less the cost of the jeep. (i have a 2.5 for sale LOL)|

Engine upgrade requirements
Hey all, blew up my 2.5 and the machine shop says cylinder walls are too thin to remanufacture. Thinking about a bigger block but was t sure what I'd need to upgrade besides the ax-5 to a ax-15 transmission and the ECM. Anyone have any info or suggestions? I was also considering swapping in a crate engine but assume I'll run into issues with the bell housing and the tranny shaft fitting into the block. If ANYONE has ANY info or suggestions I'd appreciate whatever you've got.
