Celtic Full Syn Mobil 1 5W-20 and Mopar (Purolator) filter changed by my selling dealer for as long as the engine is under Chrysler warranty. That way there is really no discussion if something internally goes haywire. I look at it as cheap peace of mind and hassle avoidance. My dealer's price is low enough to not make it worth my while to do it myself. But, I always check their work.

countrybassist Dino 5w-20 and a Napa Gold filter. I change it every 3000 miles. If I were to use a synthetic oil, I may go longer than 3000, but I would still change the filter at 3000.

You are correct, I will most likely change it earlier, try not to exceed 7500 mi on either vehicle. I try to change the wife's car and my Jeep every 6 months, unless the mileage spec is getting close.

My work truck gets oil changes every year with whatever I can get on sale in 10w-30 grade. Its last oil change was done when my father-in-law owned the truck, before he gave it to us and got a new Chevy. The oil was four years old, I just changed it in June 2011 (last done in Jan/07, truck mostly sat though...still not good)

TxF150 Mine, which has the same 3.8L V6, holds 6 quarts with filter change. I used a high quality filter BTW, no cheap on sale filter. I want to make sure the filter holds up as long as the oil does.
