wiring harness questions

i have a 93 wrangler thats pretty much shot and just bought an 89 and swapped my axles onto the 89. i bought a motor from another 89 and i was under the jeep putting on the axles today and realized part of the wiring harness is missing. right behind the charcoal canister thing it is melted off so im missing the plug that would go to the gas tank the tranny and maybe t case? cant remember if its supposed to have a plug. my question is could i splice in the missing part from the harness of the 93. im pretty sure it wont work but just hoping so i dont have to find a new part. thanks for the help.
