rebelBullDawg325 but looka t the teams lousiville beat compared to the teams he will be facing every week in the SEC..... Ohio state is a perfect example of this. it doesnt matter what your record is if you play sucky teams. when OSU has to paly real teams they lose. OSU, USC, ND, MICH, WVU, OK, TX and many others i can think of are only good because the media declares them that. sure they have great records every season, but look at the teams they beat. heck, 2 loss not even division champ UGA whiped UNDEFEATED Hawaii as well as 2 loss LSU beating OSU. strength of schedule means much more in the real world than on paper or in the BCS formula

Dare2BSquare If he stays 4 years and we end up 41-9 like he was at Louisville, I'D TAKE THAT!!!

rebelBullDawg325 i dint know most of the dirt on huston. was just going by his record compared to the schools track record and that does make lots of sense now when broken down for me. as far as petrino, dont get your hopes up. he was at mediocre lousiville and really wasnt that impressive there. now he steps into the best conference in all of college football. heck, i think a couple SEC teams would be the falcons, dolphins, raiders this year. and its not even one of the top tier sec teams he's going to. albeit they are right on the boarder line of breaking through to the top. i'll be the first to admit i'm wrong and eat my words if things are different but as for now, i dont think he's gonna impress

Houston was seen at a restaurant in Warren, AR today with the Warren football coach. He's not wasting any time going after prospects that have verbally committed to Arkansas.

Scuttlebutt around here is that Ryan Mallet is transferring from Michigan to Arkansas.

1BLKJP Houston Nutt rode out of town right in front of a mob. He'd been fooking up all over Arkansas. Especially with that news caster he was bangin. Basically a time for change in his mind. As evidence that he signed immediately with another SEC school.

As far as Bobby P goes. Sorry. It's going to turn out worse for you all than if Nutt had stayed. Plus the fact you are losing both Run DMC and Felix Jones to the NFL this year isn't going to do any favors for a struggling offense. Bobby P does know how to score points, but he only knows how to do it for 4 years max as his resume clearly shows. The SEC is a MONSTER and LSU can lose all 22 starters to the NFL and come back and make it to the championship game every year. They are a machine and that's all there is to that. Ten is always tough, Florida will be there also. And then you come to Georgia who I think is probably going to win the SEC next year. They have a solid nucleus coming back and good freshman coming in from what I hear.

The thing that killed him was hiring a high school coach as offensive coordinator to land Mustain and his buddies from Springdale. Then not giving him any respect or allowing him to run the offense. At the end of the year, last year when Malzahn left for Tulsa (top offense this year in D1) and Mustain and two very promising prospects left with him. (two of them transferred to Southern Cal)

Everyone in the state was saying that Houston let his ego get in the way and could not allow anyone else to steal his glory. Most of the fan base was expecting a change in the offense to open the game up more. They blamed Houston for not allowing that to happen, and teams could concentrate on stopping the run since we didn't have a passing attack.

Right or wrong, all the off season stuff that went on just couldn't be forgiven when we lost to bama and kentucky and auburn in games that we probably should have won.

2much you are right Dare, Arkansas, Mississippi, and MSU all have the same recruiting struggles, but Auburn did overcome it, so maybe Arkansas and Mississippi can as well.
01-13-2008 08:54 PM
Dare2BSquare A lot of Arkansas fans would agree with you!!!

Wholeheartedly.

...and now we have two Dicks and no Nutts!!!
01-13-2008 08:50 PM

Dare2BSquare Hey we had two Dicks and 2 Nutts for a couple of years!
01-13-2008 08:19 PM
ccain Well... I've never been a College football fan... But you have to love WVU!!! And, I know they're are outside the SEC, but you have to admire any team that could pull this off!

Dare2BSquare Okay, I've heard what all the Hogs fans are thinking about Bobby P coming to Arkansas. I would like to hear what all the other SEC fans and football fans in general think about what he will bring to the recruiting and performance of the Hogs.

I don't really think he will stick around for 10 years like Houston did, but I hope he stays long enough to transition the program to a top notch SEC program. We need to be taken to the next level.

And don't tell me how we can never get there because of our small recruiting base and how no one will want to come to Arkansas on scholarship, Auburn did it and I think we can to.

rebelBullDawg325 the conference spoke for itself, again. very impressive showing. minus the overmatched arkansas (mizzou should have been playing a much tougher team in a BCS bowl) and florida being stupid and thinking michigan was going to be a cake walk. hopefully that game taught them a lesson.
11-24-2007 11:08 PM
rebelBullDawg325 so that means a champion will always be undefeated? guess that means hawaii will be the champ. oh wait, they aint played the bulldawgs in the sugar bowl yet

Iquois What will happen next in the SEC? I had to pull for LSU over Arkansas because that was the only hope the SEC had of getting a team in the national championship!! LSU certainly had the opportunity to win, but just didn't take advantage of it. Arkansas deserved to win the game.......what a year of surprises.

No team has been consistent in the SEC. A championship team will always find a way to win a game, even if its on a day what they are not at their best.

It is the end of Michigan's season.

Anybody see the huge article in the USA Today talking about the dominance of the SEC over the past several years?

I think it was more to let the recruits know he wouldn't be there, and so it wasn't up in the air at the end of the year for kids deciding what to do.

Dare2BSquare Miles has been in the SEC 3 years, and plays "are kansas" every year. Don't you think someone would have corrected him by now?
