IsaacTJ I understand your dilemma.

Last summer we traded a 97 TJ Sport for a new 2010 JK Unlimited. The JK is sweet. We enjoy it very much. However, we missed the TJ so much that we just purchased a 2000 Sport that is pretty much the twin to our '97 with exception of the color.

Now we have the best of both worlds.

As far as you mechanical issues, you may want to consider taking the JK back at the dealer for the repairs. For the other concerns, it may be that the JK is such an entirerly different vehicle than your TJ that you've yet to warm up to the differences. You may come to enjoy and like the JK, but it may never take the place of you beloved TJ.

Hawkeye22407 Ok - here we go.. a pic of the '98, before and after I picked up a set of 5 new rubi wheels and tires for $800... best $800 I've ever spent!

And a pic of the '10 Rubi.

Hawkeye22407 Sorry - yes, typo - my former wrangler was a 1998, not a 2008 - DUH!

2010 =
constant static dashboard that attracts dirt like a swiffer
"velcro" carpet that attracts (and holds) dog hair, defying the best efforts to remove it
"knock" in steering wheel that I can't get repair site to acknowledge
hard plastic on nerf bars instead of.. uh... nerf
HEAVY ass rear seat that I nevertheless seem to have to add once a week
no fold and tumble front seat, making getting in rear a big challenge
"flame red" is alright, but I miss my "Chili Pepper Red"

course, the '98 was a Sport, and the 10 is a Rubi, so I got THAT goin for me

Bubba68CS Are we to assume that to be a typo? 2008 was a JK...

WarBoomer 2008? That would still be a JK......... you mean 2006?

I SO miss my TJ

Had a 2008 Sport, "Chili Pepper Red". Probably the best vehicle I've ever had - sold it when I left California, 110,000 miles and never a problem with it. I've had my 2010 JK now for a year and a half, and I STILL miss my TJ.

So much so that I'm thinking of selling my JK and buying another TJ!
