Gunny23 I was running standard dinosaur juice in my rig right after I bought it (it had 135,000 mile on it then). I had a lifter tap that just drove me nuts!!! I changed to Mobile 1 Synthetic and that annoying little tap has disappeared. Been thru 3 oil changes with the Mobile 1 now...all at about 5500 mile interval +/- 2-300 miles. Still the tap hasn't been heard again.

There...that should tie the threads together...

ftamboner1204 ok as far as pushed before no clue, but does run pretty good for the mileage except a knock but was told is normal, reason why thought of synthetic, and my driving now, normal everyday till get the 4.0 next year in fall

sgnellett Kind of depends, how long do you plan to keep it, how hard do you drive it now, how hard and how far has it been pushed before, etc.. There isn't one straight simple answer for everyone.

ftamboner1204 ok nice to know, but is it worth the extra 3 dollars a quart

rpxr400 It's not true that once you run synthetic oil you can't go back to conventional oil.

Normal oil to Synthetic

Was wondering if is a problem to switch from normal oil to 4x4 synthetic, I do know that once the change is done, need to stick with it, will this help engine last longer and gas mileage
