|tjt94||Use something to hold it on. Wire-ties, electrical tape, etc. At least you will know what to do if it comes off again if it disconnects before you get it in for the warranty work.|

I was under there and it looked like (i dont know the right technological terms...) a piece that was supposed to be held on to the pin connected to the shifter was off - so i put it back on and it went into park and started up - but there is nothing to hold it together

|tjt94||Crawl under and look where the shifter connects to the transmission. Hopefully it is on the side in sight. The cable is probably disconnected. Have someone move the shifter to see what direction it is supposed to go. Reconnect it and put it into park. You can then use a wire-tie to hold it together until you get the warranty taken care of.|

Problems in paradise...
So today is the first day in some time that it has been under 100 degrees so of course the top is off - ive been running errands all morning. I stopped to get gas and filled up, jeep was running fine.
I get home pull into the drive way and the shifter (its automatic) just slides back and forth not clicking into place in anything but drive. it slides up to park but doesnt engage so its techincally still in drive but the shifter is in park.
I put on the emergency brake and just turned it off while in drive (but the shifter in park) and now it wont start back up because it thinks its in drive which it is.
Any thought? nay help would be much appreciated! Ive got the extended warranty so i can have it fixed if need be - i just dont know where to start!
