The TJ and the JK are different animals.....

the thing is with the JK, they have that ESP steering program. I think Joe from Absolute Off-Road says that any JK lifted 3.5" or more needs a drop pitman arm so the computer doesn't trip the ESP constantly.
Joe is currently in Las Vegas @ SEMA but should be back this weekend, might want to send him a PM (AbsoluteOffRoad)

|mud707||That's a tuff one to answer. There has been a long debate about if you need a dropped pitman arm or not on the tj thread, and I still don't understand their answer. The droped pitman arm is suppossed to keep your steering geometry correct, but some say don't use it and use a adjustable track bar instead. My theory is choose the kit that you think will fill your needs the best and if it has one in it then your good even if you decide not to use it.|

4" lift kits with or w/out dropped pitman arm??
I have seen a wide variety of 4" inch lift kits that comes with the usual coil springs, adjustable front track bar & rear track bar relocation bracket. Where as some kits also come with the drop pitman arm and others dont. I have heard that a dropped pitman arm is recommended with lifts from 4" inches and up. My question is, if I choose the lift kit w/out the pitman arm is it better to purchase the drop pitman arm & install it or should the lift kit that didnt come with the dropped pitman arm still function properly? Thanks in advance...
