|daddyjeep||The 8.8 is about an inch narrower from my understanding. Also, they are set up for leaf springs. If they are going under a TJ you will have to get all of the brackets for the coils and links and wled them on.|

|daddyjeep||for mild trails like you said that you wheel, your front axle should be fine. I would definately consider a stronger rear axle with the 35's. A Ford 8.8 is a very common swap and should be done before you spend money for gears on the D35 that you have now.|

|Rubicondon53||You'll also want to dump your axles ,, at the very least, up to 44s front and rear. Lots of guys use ford 8.8s or even Dana 60s.. I do know you'll be twisting axles like toothpicks, with those big 35" tires on your stock axles.. Like I said, a lot of money for an inch or two..|

|Rubicondon53||I run 33s real 33s 255/85/16s .. With 1.75 spring lift and 1" body lift.. OME 2" lift in my future... I just can't justify all the extra money to run 35" tires. That's only an extra inch of clearance over the 35s for thousands more dollars? Check out my vid with my 33s and my buds YJ with 35s. I got hung up once,= driver error ,,,, YouTube rubicondon04. Well I pretty much just drive trails w/ the family, just easy to intermediate and some "black diamond" trails if you want to call it that but nothing major. Later on I would like to slowly build it up to do harder stuff with some of the Jeep gatherings and family runs with confidence.

That's about it, unless you plan on lots of rock crawling and you've got deep pockets, then you'd want to look at some atlas transfer cases, for some real low low for crawling,,
Just off the top of my head with 35s I'd. begin by looking at 5:13s or so ,,, 4:88s may be too tall...

what would be my next step?
Ok, I have a 06 TJ 4 cyl. 6 speed with a 2.5 lift and 31's
I like the idea of my lift with 34's or 35's with the metalcloak fenders. To do that what do I do to achieve this without losing power or straining the engine or tranny? A grocery list will give me a good start and help me plan! Thanks!
