jorodrigz At least the helmet matches the Jeep's color!!!! Now a white helmet, there I'd expect window licking behavior.

It just makes it even funnier. Thanks for sharing the pictures and story and she is wonderful for agreeing to be part of your life even through a situation that made her uncomfortable.

Not sure if other years/models have it, but my 2011 has a sticker above the driver warning that one should wear one's seatbelt at all times because the top and doors are NOT designed to protect an occupant or keep one in, in an accident.
Wondered how they got around having the requisite door structure, etc. that other vehicles must have - the roll bar and the sticker give them the out they need.
So my dog rides with his harness attached to the rear seatbelt just in case...

Good catch. It's so habitual with me I take it for granted everyone wears them.

She knows I've e-mailed 'em to a few people. She doesn't know about this site or the Lone Star Jeep Club site where they're posted. I might better clean out my bookmarks.

DrHolliday I could understand the hard top giving her a false sense of security, but I see you have the door surrounds for the soft top on, so did she think the soft top could hold you guys in if it rolled?

Lithium Lotus Tell her you need to buy new wheels with lower offset and wider tires. That way the tires are pushed out and makes the Jeep more stable.

That is full of win right there.

Besides, you wouldn't want a hard helmet to crack some glass or scratch up the interior.

I was going to say the same thing. How could you be so worried that you would wear a helmet, but not wear a seatbelt??

Thanks for the great morning laugh.

I normally don't allow that word in my classroom, and they know it. I just couldn't argue with 'em, though.

Too funny! Sunday was the first day with doors and top off. The wife muttered something holding the bar above the glove box but within minutes she said "I WANT A JEEP"!

I don't know about his wife, but that is the reason my wife has for not taking the top off. She had a convertible when we first met. She never had the top down on it, because it would mess up her hair.
