Well, since you have 3 kids you may want to wait just a tad bit longer and buy the new 07 wrangler. I heard somewhere that the back seat on the unlimited ( 4 door version ) is going to seat 3 people, and on the plus side there is a locking trunk in the floor board, so your kids crap will not be stolen. I think I am correct on saying that this will be the FIRST 5 person wrangler ever.

|4Jeepn||The rear seat has always been set up for 2 people as far as I know, but 3 can fit if the people are small. You could I suppose buy an extra set of belts and bolt them in for the third person.|

Rear Seat Question
I seem to recall that when the TJ first came out that the rear seat was to be wider than the YJ and CJ Jeeps. The benefit of this was that it allowed seating for three people. Well, I went out today and test drove a new Wrangler and there are only seat belts for two. But it looks like the seat is wide enough for three with a lap belt in between.
I ask this because we are a family of 5. Me, my Wife and three children. As much as we'd like to have a new Wrangler, seating for 4 ain't going to work.
Did the original TJ's have seating for 3 in the rear?
Is there an after market seat that can be retrofitted to get seating for three? If so, where can one buy it?
Is there an after market mod that one can make to the factory rear seat to get up to 3?
