tiwillieak I've known the Jeep wave since I was young, but I have to admit, since I got my JK I haven't participated in the Jeep wave. I've only had it a short while so it's still stock and I'd feel like that nerdy kid trying to fit in.

JK is just a little different... anyone willing to drive a YJ daily you know they are a Jeeper. The JK seems to draw a mixed crowd and unfortunately most of them just don't "get it".

Dawn10 I also take the doors off and top off in the summer soooo I still don't rate because it's a 4 door and stock right!

Dawn10 I am a female and I wave at every type of Jeep Wrangler. I notice at times I don't get a wave back but I still do it. Mine is a 4 door and as far as comfort going down the highway ha ha not - very rough ride, it's a 6 speed stick shift, no power windows or power locks, softtop so talk about noise wow it's loud going down the highway or if it rains or sleets ( I live in Ohio). Yes i like to go off roading when I can and drive it on the beach when on vacation but why because its a 4 door am I any less worthy than another Jeeper!? It's not lifted etc.. Geesh you guys.

Anyhow, hope I haven't offended anyone.
Why wouldn't it offend people? I haven't lifted my Jeep. I probably won't be lifting my Jeep. I'm not even much for off-roading. Why should that make me less worthy of a wave?

really new jeeper

Hi i'm a really new Jeeper, one week. So Im learning all the new jeeper language. does this message have a spell check? I bought an 08 wrangler x with 109k on it. It is in like new condition, and runs great so far. I would like to know if there is a way to inprove the gas mileage. I've learned a lot so far on this forum site and really enjoy reading what other Jeepers have to say. jkgunner

KittyPrawn Have you ridden in a JK because LOL at "freeway comfort." this thing is no more or less comfortable than my TJ was.

Your other complaints are against the four door model specifically. Letting other people get in and out of a vehicle comfortably sure subtracts from the true nature of a Jeep.
02-03-2014 01:44 AM
IrishRed I just don't understand why you wouldn't wave to someone because theirs is newer and slightly more comfortable. I also ride a harley and make it a point to wave to ALL brands and year models.
02-03-2014 01:25 AM
JudgeKRc Trunk space, 4 doors, and freeway comfort. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the JK, just stating the reason some folks don't do the wave when driving one. I have an XJ YJ and a TJ and love them all for there own purposes.

"my jeep gets me dates" thread. :P

yeah, women never wave here. I think its because women don't actually look out the windshield while driving.

The wave has always been a Wrangler thing and the jk is a wrangler cherokee hybrid so it's a hit and miss seeing that cherokee don't do the wave very often to other cherokees.
Maybe it's because the jk is more convenient like the cherokee, therefore you have non jeepers driving them.
how exactly is the jk more convenient than the cherokee? What does my jeep have that a TJ doesn't?

I bought a JK so i could get a non-rustbucket. I do live in michigan afterall............................

Options? none!
02-02-2014 12:30 AM
IrishRed What major conveniences have changed for the newer models? Mine is fairly bare bones other than whats in the dash. When I get out of the wifes F150 I feel like I'm getting into a flintstone mo-bile

IrishRed I've got the oppostite problem. I drive a JK and can't get anyone to wave back! I'd say I get reciprocation about 25% of the time.

nate32TJ Yeah I can definitely relate to that Wilson haha, I wouldn't dare wave to anybody in certain parts if Vegas!
11-21-2013 09:17 PM
Willson I feel Vegas is kind of slim on the waving also, some days everyones waving and others its like WTH is this guy waving at me for.... I also think it has to do with what side of town your on. One side of town i wouldn't dare wave at anyone, while another side you feel like there are bunch of snooty prudes. Then there's sometimes an ol'timer will be driving by and ill wave, and he does nothing, and i can hear him in my head saying "young whipper snapper think he knows what having a Jeep means with his new Jeep."

They don't do any fun auctions here. I'd really like an old cucv.

capncraigagain I'm a Troll (live below the Great Bridge) and my arm gets sore from all the waving down here. I suppose I'd better rig a crash test dummy arm before I get the dreaded "Wrangler Elbow".

EnRoute I live in NJ and about one third of jeepers wave. I travel a lot and in PA it is a definite culture of Jeep Waves. Well done PA.
