kuotown I only have 2" of lift, but I do tow an 18' ski boat with all the camping gear needed for the weekend without any problems. I am pulling about 3k pounds total. I would think you would be fine with a drop down draw bar and a good class III/IV hitch. Just make sure that your brakes are up to the task of slowing the rolling mass! Good luck and be safe!

acopsy88 i know some one who had a 4 inch lift and pulled a boat that weighed between 2000 2500 lbs and didnt have a problem at all except for pullin it out of the water. We just put it in 4wd didnt have a problem. we didnt try 2wd but figured 4wd just to be safe..

yah like teej said.. if you go with bigger tires and dont regear.. you will have a rough time towing..

but if you regear you should be ok... as long as its within the jeeps towing capacity..

Towing Issues

So the lift itself poses no real problems? Issues with the springs and such?

Jerry Bransford My TJ has 5.5" of lift and it tows my pop-up with no issues whatsoever. As mentioned above, just get a dropped drawbar so the trailer frame is level.

Triple88a You can get a drop hitch or something. Basically the end thingy that has the ball is dropped lower.

like this for example..
Plugs into the hitch receiver on the left and the ball goes on the right

Towing Issues?

I recently purchased a pop-up camper to go with my 06' Unlimited Rubicon. I was thinking of lifting it about 4'' but was concerned about the impact to my towing ability. The camper runs about 2000-2400lbs. Anyone have any expereince towing a camper with a lifted Jeep?
