|TeeJay||Snorkels are hit and miss. Some give you a gain to to the colder air. some drop your power due to the rat maze you just erected in your intake to the point where, even though the air is colder, you drop your pressure to the point where all you can do now is go under water.... and that's usually a good enough reason.|

|doc_floyd||It depends upon the context in which "performance" is measured. If you mean that you can handle water more easily, yes there are gains. If you mean that you will lower intake air temps, the answer is "yes", though with nominal gains. If you mean that you will have access to cleaner air, the answer is also "yes." But if you mean can you accelerate to 60mph more quickly, the answer is likely "no." And if you mean that will you suddenly get 3-5 mpg gains in mileage the answer is also "no."|

So the snorkel may help out a little in performance?

|doc_floyd||They are useful largely if you also create an air intake through the firewall, taking much cooler and clean air from the cowl air intake. Place your scoop facing the window - as data clearly shows it gets more air pressure facing the window. The beneifts viz. performance are negligible but the benefits of a higher air intake - though less than window high snorkel, are good.|

Yeah I hear ya on that. I think I'm going to omit that from my order. I have a feeling with all the highway driving that I do, its going to fly off and hit like an Audi behind me. It'll be hilarious when it flies off though just to see my face and expression.

from experience (not on my tj though) to adjust the nozzle all you have to do is find a thin needle and shuv it in the hole and adjust it. The nozzle is a ball with a hole in it so it spins and thats how you adjust it..
I'd check ebay first since there you can find cool looking pre painted ones for same price if not cheaper.

Yeah I hear ya. I'm thinking scrapping that idea and applying $20 to something else....perhaps new Jeep hat would give me more pleasure.

Link to the one you are using, because mine didn't need any reworking. Slapped it on and went about my business.
I wouldn't waste your money tho Iv not noticed one bit of a difference.

it probabaly ocme with directions, but it shouldnt be that hard, id have to look though, they prbabaly pop out form the back somehow, then you'd have to cut two new hole, amybe extend the hoses and then pop them back in, it should take about 1/2 hours soi leave about 3 hours to do it
stuff always takes 6 times longer than it should when fabbing it yourself!

Air Intake Vent Intake Scoop
Good Morning Everyone,
I want to increase the efficiency of my heater and chiller. I am therefore adding an air scoop. Probably going to order from Quadratec. Anywho, they tell me I may have to adjust my window washer nozzle.
Anyone have any experience with this sort of situation? If so, how would I go about moving the washer nozzle. Seems like it is fixed in its current location.
