I went with Barricade rails instead of ACE, which are a similar bolt-on design. The passenger side was basically contacting the Rubi rails and the driver side had 1/2" gap. I asked the guys at Extreme Terrain if this was normal, they said no & replaced them. Haven't had time to put the new set on yet... hoping they fit better! For what it's worth, I'm installing on a '15 JKUR.

I'm an engineer, so forgive me for asking questions like I'm going to ask. On the driver's side, there is more space between the ace rails and the stock rubicon rails than there is on the passenger side. On the passenger side the aces touch the Rubicon rails or almost touch but on the driver's side there is a gap. The ace rails also seem to angle away from the vehicle toward the front of the rails.

Is this common and we just attribute it to the fact that the left and right sides aren't exactly symmetrical underneath?

I was confused by this too! I WOULD NEVER post about our product in another vendors product thread. But, I have no control over how a Moderator moves a thread.

The original thread was asking for "What other options are out there besides ACE" and I was just throwing our hat in the rink. How that thread ended up combined with this thread is beyond me.

We consider ACE a friend company of ours. They, like us make their product right here in Michigan. Whether you buy from them or us, we both appreciate the support and most importantly you are getting a first class product from either of our companies.

weatbackdigger,
Don't feel bad we all make mistakes.

Do you like the Ace rails better then the stock Rubi X rails? If so you could install the Ace rails and sell the stock Rubi X rails.

You could also pick up a set of standard Rubicon rails and install them with the Aces, if you like that look.

Just a thought.

HK_Runner It will be a while before my (non-ACE/non-JCR) sliders arrive, but when they do, I'll post up. I am sure this thread will easily keep going till then.
02-27-2014 04:12 PM
bberck Never did post mine once I got them.

Overall happy with them. Did seem weird they came with no instructions considering you have to grind the washers down. I knew this going in so wasn't a big deal for me.

Also one had a gouge in it which kind of sucked but figured they would get more so just touched it up.

Over the years, we have seen the Mods on the forums (all forums) do things that we can't figure out but, they are the boss and what they say goes! We are just lucky enough to offer both sliders!

Jancie So finally after one month my Ace Sliders came into use

I am in my jeep at the hospital texting my husband and a female pulls up beside me to park. I didn't think anything of it until WHAM.....her door hits my sliders. Does she even say something as she is exiting her vehicle....NO!

I didn't care - did some damage to her car door as I did get out and check

Makes you wonder why an obese person would park so close to another vehicle when they can hardly get out of their vehicle as they are so wide - I can only think she didn't see the sliders and thought she had that extra room to squeeze out of her car. I could tell were her door actually slid up and down on the slider as they were muddy and she knocked the mud off in a pattern. So once she got out of her vehicle - it lifted up due to the lack of her weight in it.

MELTDOWN The JCR sliders are on my to do list. Great looking product!
02-14-2014 06:45 AM
bberck Thanks for the other options

I ended up ordering the Ace ones sense I really wanted to keep the stock Rubi rails.

edit: nevermind, i didnt realize the rubi x had different sliders from the standard rubicon. My bad
Neither did I, hence the "I am an idiot" statement

We use 2"x2"x3/16" square tube for our base, Ace uses Round tube (I'm not sure of diameter or thickness). Then we use round tubing on the stand offs.

HK_Runner I think the steel used in both ACE and JCR are the same (of course, correct me if I'm wrong). If JCR powder coats, that would be my choice over the two. I have owned ACE sliders. I'd prefer DOM tubing like White Knuckle or Shrockworks, but the price is higher. So given your price-point, you cant go wrong with ACE but the JCRs will give you a bit more clearance. The ACE sliders hang a bit low to clear and gap the Rubi rock rails.
