12vtman Bittersweet, sold my 82 CJ5 last night. Had an awesome seven years as her caretaker, but when I got my Wrangler last year really started using her less and less. Buddy of mine bought her with lots of plans to carry her through another seven years easily.

Now to make myself feel better I should go buy my 04 a present or two.

They are probably fine. But hoods ain't cheap, man. And stain-free boxers are rare when the hood does pop up on the highway.

You have a good point and lord knows I am short on boxers these days. Definitely don't want to stain a pair up. You got me thinking though. I believe I can make it with a no slip latch. All depends on tractor supplys parts bin.
You guys don't recognize those latches yet? They came off of my old OME soft top. They are the latches for the top of the windshield.

I like the look of them, a bit beefier looking than stock.

At the moment im still in the research and development stage of my little project (code for I havnt quite got to the how im going to latch it yet) Ill stop by tractor supply co. tomorrow and probably get a simple raised bar hook similar to what you see on some screen doors.Ill take a pic of the finished project.
I actually thought of just latching it thru a cut in the hood but that's a bit to trashy for what I want. If I cant make it look good ill reinstall the OEM latches.

Bazoupi I bought my LJ about a month ago. Today I took the stock rear bumper and Mopar trailer hitch/plow. I'm starting tomorrow morning with a front brake job. Then I will make a new rear bumper, I picked up a piece of 2x4x3/16 rectangular tubing for it yesterday.if I don't run out of time or energy I will wire wheel the tire carrier and get some paint on it.

This is how I wired them. LEDs don't draw many amps so it should be okay to run them like this. If they wern't LEDs i wouldn't have done it this way. The diode is so my factory lamps don't come on with the switch
I have trhe same lights on my bumper too. Got them off of ebay also. Won both in 2 separate auctions for $0.01. (not a typo) Shipping cost $24.99. LOL. I think the brand is CREE and they pretty darn bright. I like the piss out of mine.

Now it's ready for next week when the family goes camping!
More info on the roof rack please! Looking for ideas for my own.
