KamikazeKLR Yes. Absolutely. Isnt much in S MB for weekend long trips, too much farm land reduces the amount of crown land we need for wheelin', I figure. But I've taken guys out east near Kenora. If you're interested I can send you maps. Basically drive to kenora (2.5 hrs) Continue east on HWY 17, turn right (south) onto HWY 71, continue for 15 mins and turn left (northeast) onto Highwind Lake road.

From there only the maps can help you. If you zoom in on google maps you can actually see most of the trails. You'll end up in a big trail system, basically like a big rat's nest so don't get lost! you can spend a week wheeling in there and you wont find every trail.

-bring a machete/axe/chainsaw (some areas get pretty tight but I squeezed my brand new JK through)
-No facilities once you leave the HWY. There's a campground called Highwind but not sure if they're let you use their stuff.
-If you reach the campground, dont turn around. There are more trails if you go straight through.
-Definitely bring a friend or recovery gear. or both.

PM if you want more info or maps n stuff.
I see you're in brandon.. I used to work in Shilo a bit and I'm pretty sure you're allowed to go wheeling in the training area as long as you check in and make sure nobody's training in that zone.

Other than that there's the North Star trail which is about a day, Prime Meridian Trail, same thing.. My suggestion (and also what I'm gonna do next summer) is to go looking further up north. Basically whip out ye old backroads map and giv'er

Gr8whitenorth Hello out there. I just came across this forum tonight surfing online. I'm looking for jeep trails long enough to camp out on around Manitoba or even Ontario if we got nothing here. I was hoping to make a 2 or 3 day trip out of it. Anyone got anything in mind?

Thanks

Matt

Yeah we actually veered off the actual north star trail at some point and ended up on what was obviously a sled trail. In fact, we passed the NS sled club machines on the way, they had a shack and some big machines like graters or whatever.

LunaticBunny I do believe it is used as a snowmobile trail in winter when there is more snow.

LunaticBunny it was done in the summer just after a rain, big puddles and it torn it right off the front. I had a metal plate holder. Gone. ended up getting new plates. cheap fix $15.00

HAHAHA
That's funny cause I almost ripped mine off crossing that river.. I think some ice got underneath and bent it up, broke the stupid cheap plastic license plate frame from the dealership. Shucks.

LunaticBunny Oh and if anyone finds a license plate it belongs to me.

Thanks for looking. The best I could manage is 180$ from Kal tire in Steinbach. Still better than the 350$ the dealership and every other tire shop wanted! Got a brand new one.

KamikazeKLR I think I've called every tire place in the city. They're starting to know me by name and saying 'You called earlier. We don't have your tire.'

Dammit.
