There really is no set season, it just depends on the snow pack. Typically lower elevation trails start opening in June or July but this year a lot of higher elevation trails were still blocked until mid July. I'd suggest early August as a safe bet. You don't want to wait too long or you miss the wild flower season (yeah I know that sounds ghay but the womens like it ).

Couple of links for trails.

Colo is a little harder to plan for since there really isn't a central town like Moab with a lot of nearby trails but worth it. The season here is short but it's nice having Moab 5 hours away for the off season
well stated EAD

Its a harbor freight universal. He had to drill 4 holes through the frame and hack on the plastic bumper a bit.

Chigger You are lucky people to have that to drive in.

abader01 Where specifically did you find those trails? I am in Denver and would love to follow that route.

onroad Really nice pics! I just drove right by there visiting the area a couple of weeks ago. The Rockies are amazing. Unfortunately it was rainy and overcast almost the whole time. Did get a chance to drive from Buena Vista to Denver along 285 late night in pouring rain. Kind of a hairy drive.

We do have some great trails but our season is really short. In about 3-4 weeks most of them could be snowed in already. This year the snow pack didn't melt until July. Year round trails are few and far between here.

Of course Moab is only 320 miles away
