|pick||I would think the Turbo idea would be cool, it would just be the building boost problem on the rocks and trails to get the HP to kick in with the turbo, and dealing with turbo lag. Instead of good old displacement that is there when you stomp on the gas.|

i wouldnt turbo charge mine unless it had a diesel powering it
i think a turbo on a jeep would be cool in a "look what i can do" sort of way, but totally impractical IMO. to each his own though

|White93ARB||OK Triple...I kindof see where your coming from. But the motors they use are overhead-cam 4 cylinders. I've seen more guys with V-Twins using superchargers than I've seen on the 4 cylinder sport bikes. Turbo seems to be a big thing with them, and I'm sure theres good reason. These bikes are highly refined, every little change has a lot of reason, so I'm sure theres reasons for why they use turbos. One probably being it puts no drag on the crank, no belts to break, basically a simple system compared to a supercharger, in my eyes. These guys just hold on tight, I guess. Aren't superchargers more of a low-rpm thing, anyways? These bikes are definately not low rpm, ever. From launch on the 2 step, to crossin the finish line, they're tach'n.|

just out of curiosity, wouldnt you want a supercharger on a bike instead of a turbo? Reason for that is turbo will give you quite more boost once it spools and the hit of it spooling up is quite harsh so it wont pull much but once the boost hits it may even throw you off the seat vs a supercharger that has steady hp increase therefore making a bike easier to control.

I have dialup so I can't watch your vid; Is it the TopGear with the Gallardo vs the 1098? Thats a good one. Anyone seen the TopGear when the Brits come to Alabama, buy thousand dollar beater cars, and paint things on them they hope to piss off the Alabama boys with. Things such as 'Nascar sucks', 'Man Love rules', 'I'm Bi', and my favorite, 'Country and western is rubbish'. They end up getting basically chased out of town by a truck full of hillbillys and their dogs. Its funny seeing people who couldn't be more British in the thick of the Midwest.

Based on the previous comments, its not dis-respectful Trip has a point about the waste gate. But still, I say just swap in a diesel. That is my goal before I graduate from college. Nice torque with a diesel, and u can run it on cheap veggie oil which makes ur exhaust smell like Mcdonald's

|White93ARB||My work makes a bunch of parts for turbo bikes, they're bad. Hayabusas around 1400cc's, running 20+ pounds of boost, and nitrous, with no wheelie bar, doing 200mph 1/4 miles. And these would guys drag race these bikes on the street, but now they have Grudge racing events at tracks to discourage the street racing. Anyone on the East Coast know about this?|

haha im sorry to hurt so many feelings about the bike comment truthfully im a longtime OFFROAD rider but i have a hard enough time staying alive in my car and jeep with the way people drive so i never took my two wheel rush on to the pavement

Sport bikes and all motorcycles for that matter are amazing machines... yes deadly if used improperly, however, cagers are also responsible for motorcycle fatalities... Experienced motorcycle riders are better vehicle operators as well... more aware of their surroundings and not worried about fixing the radio or dropping their cup of starbucks...
Now that my rant is over back to the engine topic... Turbo has its benefits as well as bigger V8's... Turbo tends to be a sleeper..... V8 has raw HP... Diesel chipped out... gas mileage as well as settings that allow you to set the engine to consume less fuel or turn it up and smoke the hell out of a lot of cars....
