We're going down to run it on January 31st-Feb 1st. It's an "unofficial" red dirt jeep event. Anyone looking for details let me know. I have run it twice in the last 4 months, it is a blast if you like to camp. Weather, at this point, looks good. Mid 50's or so as long as the forecast holds.
I think we have about 15 Jeeps signed up to go. Of course 4-5 of those won't show. But it is a great place to go exploring.

Between coaching soccer games on Sats, and Union School's Fall Break, my first date is Sat 11/19. But I would go then with my son and camp that night (assuming I get a kitchen pass).
We are camping near Hot Springs over Fall Break and plan on checking out the Superlift ORV Park nearby.

Sorry, that I have not been back to this thread in a while...
You will be just fine in a stock jeep, mine was stock when I ran it, beautiful views.
But you will have plenty of tree limbs to scratch your jeep....the road is over grown but with the lack of rain this year it might not be that bad... I might make the drive up to run it next month if things work out..
And yes, if you want to do it legally you will need a land use permit granted by the state, if memory serves me right they are between 20-30 bucks..

|okranger6||I think U can find the land use permit cost on the Oklahoma Wildlife homepage, U have to pay it to hunt there. But land use is land use. Go Polks!!|

|s14sh3r||Haven't been to K-Trail in years, but back then it wasn't too bad. Lots of washed out places and some places where tree limbs will scratch your rig, but that's about it. I grew up driving all over those mountains, but haven't been on em since it turned into Honobia Creek.|
