AzTJ ah poor JJ Same here. Our tree is tiny and fake. And the lights on the house get fewer every year.

jjseel Last tree was about 12 years ago. Went to the farm, cut down the perfect shaped, perfect sized tree, brought it home, put it in the stand, told my wife and son "here it is, decorate to your heart's content, and I will bring it in when you are done". that tree sat in the driveway untill the tree pickup came after New Years. Never again. All those years of effin with the tree, and cleaning up after, turns out, nobody gave a damn. Bah-effing-humbug. Thought I was doing it for the wife and kid all those years, lights on the house, the tree, etc...humbug...now decorating is an 18 pack and a wreath on the brush guard!

4point I grew up in a family of six kids. There was never anthing "extra" in our house. One year, to save money Dad took us all out on a trip to find a christmas tree in the forest. We lived in S. Arizona there are no christmas tree there just juniper and pinon pine. So we cut down several junipers and dad tied them together with bailing wire. Wa-la christmas tree! It was not the worst tree ever for us, but it was definatley different and one I'll never forget.

sgnellett I remember one year my whole family went out and picked out a "real" tree, I'm pretty sure we all told Dad it was way too big, but since we never bothered to measure, Dad figured it'd be close, we'd just trim as needed. Well, we got it home, tried to stand it up in the living room, never got past about 45%! So, what did Dad do? Went into the garage and brought the chainsaw INTO THE HOUSE and lopped the damn tree about in half! Turns out it was just shy of 14 feet tall! It sure was pretty, before we cut it in half anyhow!

debruins not the worst ever, but we have a house in maine and we went up there and decided to cut one of the trees down for my grandparents we spent a good portion of time tryign to find the best tree that was the right size and had lots of needles, and by the time we got to their house all the needles had blown off from the wind of being on top of the car.

kuotown My parents tell their horror stories about christmas trees every year. The year that I was born they got a real tree and I ended up in the ICU on a ventilator. It turns out that I am severely allergic to evergreen trees. My eyes and throat swell shut!!! Talk about a horrible christmas tree story!
