hardy1531 ok cool that makes more sense. I am having nor vibes, just wooble. I will play with it on sunday b/c I am too tired today. I am going to try and loosen everything like Navy-jeepster said, and go from there.

mrbigjeep an sye is mostly for vibes...that cures driveline vibrations but not wobble...and yes you could use the spacers to lower the transfer case...thats what the transfer case lowering kits use anyway...but lowering the transfer case will just cure vibes u might be having but not necessarily wobble...so if your not getting vibes you may not need an sye or spacers...so you may want to have your wheels balanced again

navy-jeepster There is a difference between death wobble, and rear drive line vibes. And both feel totally different.
When I did the lift on my 04 X, we had a little wobble from the front, and drive line vibes from the rear. I did the transfer case drop, and that took care of the vibes. Still had the same wobble up front.
To cure that, I loosened everything, and then retorqued it all back to spec's. That took care of it.

After each wheeling trip, I check everything I installed from the lift kit. If I went through any water, I regrease the control arms.

hazmat check your d-shaft angles I could be wrong but I think the out put and the rear pinion need to be within 2 degrees of each other . please keep us advised

hardy1531 Would a transfer case spacer kit fix my problem? If so I believe I have some washers in the garage.....those are a lot CHEAPER than a new front track bar.
the wooble is coming form the front.

mrbigjeep you don't really need an sye at that much lift...AS LONG AS YOU HAVE THE TRANSFER CASE DROP KIT

Micknber First of all, I am very sorry for your loss; chin up.

Is the death wobble coming from the front or rear of your car? My son's was from the rear and it was so bad it was dangerous. One time I couldn't get it over 80km/hr and thought it would drive off the road. Problem was all of the following: rear sway bar bushes, rear lower control arms were flogged out so diff was moving and finally, diff was totally stuffed and tail shaft flogged out as a result. It only has a 2 1/2 inch lift but had to install a SYE even after all the bushes and control arms and diff were replaced. Drives like a dream now - no wobbles at all. Everyone said you probably won't need a SYE on a 2 1/2 inch lift but the angle of the shaft just looked way too radical to me. All's well that ends well. Only prob now is HOW MUCH FUEL THE BLOODY THING USES! You get that

amerijeep Got to your user cp for user control panel. It's on the upper left navigation bar.You should a list on the left with different options. One will say, edit avatar. Click on that and you can select to use a custom avatar. Then you'll be able to use a pic of your own choosing from your files or from an internet address.

If you quit going around, picking up dead bodies, you might be able to settle down, and enjoy life a little bit. Damn, that would freak anybody out. I guess we all choose our own paths, but man, what a path.

amerijeep Yeah, well, sorry for the jokes Hardy. I really have no valuable input. I had a truck that experienced this at one time. It actually ended up being a warped brake rotor. A victim of driving through water. It would even do it when not using the brakes, for whatever reason. Good luck.

hardy1531 American Tire Co. did my alignment. They said if it wasn't right they would play with it till it was. ( I told them i had put spacers on it.) Many of the guys there wheel so i thought they would get it right. I will check the front track bar soon. got a lot on my plate right now. I will get the tires rotated and balanced and see how that effects it. thank you again

MR.CLIFFORD Check your front track bar. Have someone sit inside the jeep while it is NOT running and crank the steering wheel back and forth. You are after rotation in the steering wheel to forch the axle back and forth. Watch each end of the track bar. They should not move in either direction and should keep the axle planted firm. Make sure the bushing holds the axle end tight and the bolt doesn't move in the bracket. The frame end will be obvious.

hazmat rebalance your wheels and tires. I justdid the skyjacker spacer lift and had the same problem after two days. proper balance fixed it. also who did your alignment . factory specs aren't the same as modified someone should be able to give you the proper caster angle but your toe should be from1/8 inch. in to zero.

?Death Wobble?

Wel I know there are many threads about the death wobble but it's late and I am really tired (grandmother just passed away) I have installed the RE 2'' coil spacers and new shocks. I have driven it for about 50-60 miles and re-tightened EVERYTHING. I have had a front end alignment. I am still getting a death wobble(it is very scary) ocassionally. I can tell it is coming so i slow down and sometimes it doesn't happen, but... what now? I wouldn't think I would need to replace anything else, or SYE for only a 2'' lift but I don't know. I am open for any and all ideas. Thanks
