former USMC I don't think sealing it up will be a problem. I was thinking about a cable we bought for a truck to control engaging the trucks pto operating the hydraulic dump system. If I remember correctly, it was about $35.00, came in various lengths, and was very heavy duty. The one on the web site is very nice and a little on the expensive side. I need alot of parts for my project. The money department is smaller than the time system. I enjoy the engineering part of taking someone elses solutions, modifying slightly, and applying them to my situation.

While I'm on solutions..... who has the best fit for the rear axle posi ? ( were speaking of low cost and ease of installation )

rebelBullDawg325 i was just a little worried about water leakinf in through the hole. but we've never had an issue and we deal with alot of mud/water. maybe you can silicone up around teh hole. just make sure the cable can still move

We bought the jeep primarily for driving on our property which has several stream crossings, a steep hill ( one end is made up of a rock formation ) and some soft marsh areas. It should be quite entertaining if your brave enough to hit the challenging parts. We want to keep the trail open in winter also to bring hay back to the critters. Are you aware of a higher quality cable that won't freeze in the cold temps?

whitebuffalo fwiw, i shot the cable jacket and the pass thru fitting full of lithium to keep water out. its worked so far, but i dont see alot of water or mud

former USMC Thanks much for the info. Much more positive than a group of cracked vacuum lines.

Manual Posi - lock

Is there an article describing the posi - lock application to the front axle ? I would like to get an idea what parts are required. I know they sell the kits but sweat equity and recycled parts work for me. Thanks jr
