jaygrabiec I've only heard good things about this company. Thanks for the tip.

Vouching for the company

I had a softopper on my Nissan dirt bike hauler pickup and I can say that the company makes a great product. I beat the hell out of mine and it kept going strong. Sturdy and versatile, but I can't speak to the Jeep product line. If it's as sturdy as the the pickup products, it would have my vote.

I read somewhere that the Bestop uppers are not a great fit with the Softopper top. Have you tried this or seen it done?

I am in the market for a Softopper top so if you could send me a link or some information, I'd like to check out what you have.

JeepAddOns-Chris You can also get the Bestop soft upper doors with the rounded corners that go with the Supertop as an option.

BTW, just found out we actually offer Softoppers for sale if anyone is in the market for one.

This one does come with door surrounds and everything else you need, but the door surrounds for the YJ top have a rounded corner on them.

So, if you have YJ OEM half doors, they will not be a water tight fit. If you have full doors this top will apparently fit very well.

Since I have half doors on my YJ, I'm looking into finding a set of TJ uppers and trying this modification to make them fit:

Joshpeb2 @@sinepomeI have an 05 LJ and mine did come with door surrounds but, I'm not sure about the others. I know they have one for Tjs that works with factory door surrounds and one that comes with theirs. I'm not sure on Yj models. Their site lists everything that comes with each top and if it says complete it should have surrounds, windshield header, tailgate bar,and all hardware/straps for install. I didn't need to purchase anything extra. They had alot pics on their site last time I was on it. Softopper.com

@Steiger - Yeah I was looking at some Rampage tops, but they don't make them for YJ. Luckily this company does and seem to be legit.
Viking/Rampage will have the YJ frameless tops soon. They did some test fitting this summer and should be in production shortly if they're not already.

Joshpeb2 Love mine. The windows are the standard tint. My only regret was not ordering the darker tint. A complete set of new windows with the dark tint is only $150 though. It installs pretty much like all the others with the straps in the back but these are on the inside. 2 tensioning straps inside at the front. Windows also store in a pocket above the driver/passenger seats. Had mine parked outside all winter last year with over 16" of snow on it at one point with no issues. It's sailcoth material so the noise is no worse than a stock soft top. You do lose a little headroom because a standard soft top frame raises the height a few inches. Comes with EVERYTHING needed to install.

Edit, actually I was thinking of a different company I haven't heard of this one. It says YJ will work I'll look into see if I can dig up some information.

Softopper tops...are they any good?

Looking into a frameless soft top for my YJ and came across Softopper, but I haven't been able to find much information or feedback on them.

Jeep Wrangler TJ Canvas Caps and Toppers - Softopper

I'm not familiar with how hey strap to the jeep and how well they stay on without a frame. How are they on the highway?

My other concern would be using it in the winter. Not concerned about the cold, but more the weight of the snow sagging the fabric.

Does anyone have one? Thoughts?

Thanks.

Jay
