whitebuffalo on my 99 dodge i had mag-hytec covers thjat had torix drain plugs. when i pulled them off to sell them i broke a snap-on torx off in i went to a machine shop....he broke HIS torix off too. ended up having to weld a nut to the doggone thing to get it out.

this has nothing at all to do with your windshield...just letting you know i feel your pain

navy-jeepster I also broke a torx tip on my windshield bolts.
I was using a el-cheapo torx tip when I broke it.
I went and bought a craftsman tip, and have had no problems with it. they will replace it if I break it.

Also, some guys report needing to use some heat to help loosen the loc-tite on the bolts. Heat the torx tip and let it transfer the heat into the bolt.

amerijeep Those torx things bite! I've slowly been replacing mine. As I pull hem out for whatever task, they don't go back in. I use a standard bolt replacement.
