Triple88a Jeeperx2, why are those body lift pucks so big? I thought the 4" pucks go right between your rear tires not under your doors.

Maybe cut at the red.. maybe even yellow and the blue piece would be the metal plate that connects it for support? as you can see the metal plate on the far right connects the first tcase skid bolt w/ the second one and then connects to the center of the skid it self.

4point I used to operate a Unimog with a digger derrick on it. The thing was god awful heavy, 26k lbs I think. Any way the brakes always felt as though the weren't working so I pulled the front wheels off. They were completely impacted with sand and gravel around the calipers, they NEVER worked the whole time I operated it.

That is a pile of mud there, I bet you would loose 30lbs if you washed it out of there.

nicolas-eric i can´t cut only a section.
it´s not the normal TC skid, it´s the auto tranny skid that´s monted before the TC skid.
here´s another pic:

if i cut the small metal thing under the front driveshaft it´s not strong enough to protect the tranny.

nicolas-eric is the Warn Oil Pan Skid Plate installed like the Rustys Engine/Tranny Skid?

i mean one side to theTC plate and the other side to the mounting bracket that goes over the front driveshaft?

jeeperx2 I diconnect mine and mine rubs when passenger side wheel is up? 4" lift,short arms,automatic trans? often wondered why nobody else had this problem. even sitting level its close to skid?

MR.CLIFFORD No. You only cut out a section of the skid plate enough to clear the shaft.

I don't understand why you are having this problem.

Front Driveshaft Rubbing


today I installed some additional 2" spacers to get more Lift, some 2" bumpstop extensions and some stainless steel brake lines.

everything works fine and it handles loke before.

but there is one problem:
when i accellerate with full throttle from slower speeds there is a metallic sound. it sounds like somone is cutting some metal with his air-tool.
i looked around and saw that the front driveshaft is only 0.5" away from the automatic tranny skidplate. when the front comes up when i accellerate the driveshaft rubs at this skidplate. wtf !!!

then i tried to lower this skidplate with some 1" aluminum pucks. but damn. ths left skidplate bolt at the frame turns in both directions but i can´t loosen it.
i think that the nut that´s welded to the frame came off. but how can i get this bolt out of the frame?

is there another skidplate available that i can use instead of the factory auto tranny skidplate with that the driveshaft will not rub?

tha axle comes down that much more when i loosen the front driveshaft (that´s with the 2" OME shocks. the 4-5" OME shocks are ready to be installed):
