TXST8tj I need to coordinate schedules to see what weekend works best on my end. I'll start a thread in the "Texas Forum" section for a head count.

deathphoenix99 If I do, I'll get pics and try to write about it. And when you decide to go, keep us updated as I'd like to go with some other people as well.

TXST8tj Let us know how it is. I am still interested to go out there next month.

deathphoenix99 I might be going to Down South this weekend, either Saturday or Sunday.

shipjim Check out houston jeep people. There's a meetup today on lake conroe on HWY 105,
they plan to drive onto the dry lake bed!

TXST8tj Maybe a mod can move this to the "Texas" section. We might get some more people interested in there and get an actual group together for a run.

silver165 nov sounds good or late oct
10-07-2011 01:36 PM
deathphoenix99 I'd be alright with that, and there's nothing wrong with Rednecks. LOL

TXST8tj I will be up for the Crosby park sometime soon....just not October. I would like to go out there a weekend in November though. I have heard it is sort of a redneck paradise, but if you can look past that, it makes for a fun day.

I am stock on 30s, so we'll all be on the same page vehicle-wise.

danieldlg_13 If you are just looking for trails, Sam Houston National Forest should have plenty... especially around the North side of Lake Conroe and closer to Lake Livingston. Or head East a little more to Lake Sam Rayburn.

Nfrerman In addition to that there is a place on 59 just north of 242 (about 10 miles). Don't recall the name, but it runs about $15 dollars.

I have found a cool trail in the woodlands, not totally sure of the legality, but there were enough people around that I wasn't terribly worried.
10-06-2011 02:12 PM I live in Conroe as well...general Sams is also in Huntsville I think... haven't been anywhere crazy w my jeep..bunny slope for me lol

silver165 yeah no go on this wkend im on call

deathphoenix99 I'm down for any weekend pretty much except this weekend since I won't be paid until next Friday.

I love mud, but the Jeep isn't mine, so I'd prefer not to do any driving that could potentially damage it. So if we could get a small group of people to go, that'd be awesome. I do have tow hooks on the front and a tow hitch in the back with a hook receiver and a 30' recovery strap.
10-06-2011 01:32 PM
silver165 im basically the same set up, but an 04, im not a big fan of the mud either, when are you planing on going
10-06-2011 01:24 PM
deathphoenix99 I think that's the place I was referring to, it appears about the same area that I remember looking up once. I'd love to check it out sometime.

Edit: Here's the link.

I'd be interested in going here if anyone would like to meet up. I'd be in a Stock 01 Wrangler Sport on 31's, so I wouldn't doing anything too serious, but drive around and have fun would be good....and I guess there won't be any mud, so that'd be fine as well.

silver165 i was just told of a place in Crosby, Deep South Off Road Park, 700 acres of trails, several lakes, but only open on sat and sun. $5.00 a person $10 per off road vehicle. i haven't been there myself so if you go let me know how it is

deathphoenix99 I know of General Sam's, it's north of Houston. I'm in Houston btw.

Also, I've heard of a place somewhere on the East side of Houston.

But anyways, the Texas section may be better for you to check out and here are some links.

Trails In Conroe TX Area

Hey guys I live in Montgomery TX on Lake Conroe. Are there any good trails in this area or within 20 miles? I am interested in some good trails to rid on the weekends. Nothing to crazy, but still challenging enough. Also if there are any jeep clubs in my area would be cool as well.
