Those are about the same price as the OEM mirrors, if I end up having to buy new OEM mirrors then that's what I'll do.

Beechnut I just got a set of these and they are good. The one thing you have to do is tighten the nut on the underside, and there are two little screws on the actual mirror that you have to tighten once you get it in place or they will fold all the way in on you. I was riding around looking at my rear tires for a day before I figured that out.

TnDz TJ Here is what I did....

I got a pair CIPA mirrors for a CJ off Amazon for $29.

Took some 1/2" RIGID conduit (yeah THICK WALL electrical conduit) and bent it 90 Degrees.

Cut it down to be 8" on each side. Flatten one side and rounded if off for the mirror side.

3/8" bolt at 2.5" long with sides slightly shaved to give a snug fit into the hinge mount side of the conduit and welded it up. ( DO NOT BREATH THE GALVI FUMES!!! VERY HARMFUL)

Shot with 2 coats of Plasti-Dip and BINGO!!!!!

No doors and good mirrors..... They shake a bit on the freeway, but I can deal with it.

InfernoGirl If the door hitting is the biggest problem, and you can sacrifice some room in opening the door, then just twist the limiting strap a couple of times to shorten it and be done.
Relocation brackets are a challenge since they make the passenger mirror pretty much useless when the doors are on....

Factory style aftermarket mirrors options and advice?

I recently purchased some aftermarket mirrors, the kind that mount in the door hinges when the doors are off. They suck badly!!! After I posted that I purchased them everyone jumped in to tell me how stupid I was for buying them. Everyone was right, lol So now I'm in the market for factory replacement mirrors, and also the best mirror relocators for the factory style mirrors.

The factory replacement mirrors are $95 from Jeep as best as I can find, and aftermarket clones are about $50 a set as best as I can find. $40 bucks is a pretty big price jump between the factory ones and aftermarket ones, so is it worth it?

I'm also looking at mirror movers for when I have my doors off, right now I have the standard style mover, I beleive it's made by Olympic, or a clone of the same basic thing, but when I have my doors on they hit the mirror relocator bracket before the limit strap stops them... that's annoying to me, and it leaves gouges in the plastic of the mirror mount on the door, and I don't want my door flying open in a high wind and either denting my door pannel, or denting or twisting my windshield/A pillar...

So... what's the best aftermarket mirror, or should I just get factory ones, and what's the best windshield/A pillar mirror relocator for factory style mirrors that won't interfere with my doors when I have them on?
