Engine Frame Brackets

I went to the dealer and bought the left and right brackets (they are different part numbers). That is what I wanted to do to begin with but had been told they were no longer available. Always helps to verify. They were $154.02 for the set. Part #52040335 and #52040333. This is for a '92 Wrangler with 4.0L, I6.

Frame Motor Bracket

Well here is the issue with that. I don't want to damage my new frame at all which means cutting the bracket and smoothing off the frame. On my 6 cylinder frame I am still driving it and the brackets on it are pretty rusty so I don't want to swap them over to the new frame.

Also, I am having the new frame sandblasted, epoxy primer coated and then top coated so I want the engine brackets already installed. I have Bomb Proof engine mounts to bolt back to the new frame. I am trying to mount all the new stuff on the replacement frame like shackles, springs brakelines, etc. so to reduce down time when I get started with the swap.

I guess I am off to the junkyard to find some good frame motor brackets

payj90 i my self would cut the old engine mounting brackets off the other frame, using a torch plasma cutter, ect. being careful not to cut the mount its self grind all the old weld off slap them on the frame weld them up and no need to buy anything.

Frame Motor Mount Tower/Pylon Dimension Question

New guy to the board and I need a real no kidding answer from someone who has dealt with this. I am swapping out the frame on my 92 Wrangler with 6 cylinder engine because it has just rusted too badly for a good repair. I have a 94 frame which is like brand new. The new frame had a 4 cylinder.

I have looked at the frame dimension drawings for a YJ frame. The location of the engine mount tower/pylon which is welded to the frame is shown at the same dimension for both 6 and 4 cylinder engines. I was told that these welded-in pieces would have to be moved in swapping from 4 to 6 cylinder engines. I know the rubber mount which bolts onto the pylon will need to be changed.

Has anyone dealt with exactly this issue to know for sure if I have to move them? If I do, where can I buy replacement towers to weld back in if they require replacement.
