Recieved XRC MOD front bumper TODAY!
I just got Confirmation through UPS tracking status that the XRC modular bumper with full width end plates and bull bar just arrived at my home. FINALLY after 4 months since i ordered them.
Here a picture of confirmation, Im in mexico and bought them through 4wheelparts, so if anyone bought them they should be arriving shortly.
Just excited since I can't continue on the build until i get it installed.
Will be posting pictures of the bumper, full width end plate and bull bar as soon as I get the opportunity to install them.
Will also post fog light size since no one seems to know.

|Poleposition||Shame we cant ANY specs on the full width end plates in reference to the fogs. I've asked numerous times to no avail. Anxiously awaiting my order as well.|

|kenb1023||Sorry for taking so long to reply. Didn't notice anyone posted. I like the bumper. Will like it better when the rest of it comes in. I ordered the side extensions with the lights and they have been on BO for ever. Now they say maybe 20 March. Same goes for the X2O 8 Winch I ordered. The center section went on with a bit of a fuss but a BFH and determination got it on. I lkie the looks and that it is beefed up for using a tow bar from the recover links.|

Had my 2012 Rubi for a few months now, and am looking to wade into the mods universe. The Smittybilt MOD bumper is on the top of my list with the bull bar & full-length ends, along with a WARN VR12000 winch.
My decision to go with Smittybilt is the look, and not really the price. That said, I'd rather I don't have to spend an entire day grinding, drilling & painting. Some of the comments in this thread makes me doubt the quality of the Smittybilt line as a whole... Is that the general consensus?

how do you like the bumper so far

I've have good luck with rustoleum spray on bed liner. It's a lot thinner then most other rattle can liners and it doesn't give you that good texture that's often associated with Rhino Liner and similar products. But it's sticks really well and it's fairly cheap.
If you're interested in using a name brand product, I see no reason why it wouldn't work, but you'd have to remove any coating that's currently on the bumper to make sure you get good adhesion.

I have Smittybilt's SRC front/rear bumper and their 10k winch. My personal experience with Smittybilt has been good as long as you understand you get what you pay for.
I've had some fit an finish issues and their powder coating is so bad it actually promotes rust. But their tech support is great and all I have to do is grind a little here and there and repaint it and I have a functional, stout inexpensive product backed by fantastic tech support.
All in all, I'm very happy with Smittybilt.
Good luck on your build .

Hey, it's gettin there, though. I'm glad you actually got it...when you said you'd ordered I kinda thought, "Uh-oh."
Stubborness isn't necessarily always a negative trait.
I've got Smittybilt side armor on my Jeep and, yeah, had to grind the hell out of it, too. Passenger side went on after one grinding session. Driver's side took six or seven, iirc. Thought I was gonna spontaneously combust there a few times.

|kenb1023||Well the center section and bull bar came in. Still waiting on the ends and the winch. It went on ok but as with most things made in China the holes didn't all match up. Had to drill out the bull bar mount and grind a bit on my bumper braket to make it fit.|

|kenb1023||Center section and bull bar are in. All I need now are the end caps and winch and it will install time.|

|kenb1023||Ok, it is a done deal, Dec 18 is the estimated ship date. will let everyone know how it goes when it gets here.|

I also just sent Smittybilt a letter as writen below. If more Jeep owners do the same maybe they will get the message.
I have a 2007 Jeep JKU and have been told the XRC M.O.D. bumper that I want to put on it will not be available until December yet you have been advertising these since June. I talked to my fellow Jeep owners and they say that you are known for advertising a new product then taking forever to get to market. This has many Jeep owners pissed off and looking to other manufactures for their Jeep needs. I do not want to tell you how to run your business but if I ran my business that way I would be broke and on the street. Just think of the revenue you could be getting if you were not driving potential customers away. I have a Smittybilt XRC * Comp winch and I am very happy with it so I am going to take a leap of faith and order the XRC M.O.D bumper system for my 2007 JKU with the X2O 8 Comp winch and hope that it is available by December. If it is not then I will have to cancel the order and look at an ARB bumper (2nd on my list) or Best Top (3rd on the list) to meet my needs.

|kenb1023||I just called 4 Eheel Parts in Albuqureque and they said there were only 50 made and sold. They sold so fast that the production line was not set up to process that fast. They should be out again in Dec. I am going to make a blind jump and order one today. I am also going to order the new X20 8 Comp Winch. It is supposed to be totaly water proof and can run submerged. We will see.|

My guess is that the lights are OE factory fogs, much like the Rugged Ridge XHD modular system uses.
Don't know much about the Smittybilt mod system otherwise. However, I would check on availability before you buy. Smitty has a history of announcing new products, then taking forever to actually get them to market.
Examples are the xrc side armor (fenders) that can be seen on several websites, but are still under development. Also, the ProTop, which you can pre-order on a couple of sites...they were announced in Smitty's new product catalog after the 2010 Sema show, and have yet to show up on anybody's Jeep.

Anyone Have the Smittybilt XRC M.O.D. Bumper System
First Jeep, 2007 JKU and first aftermarket add on. I am looking at getting the XRC M.O.D. bumper system with the full width End Plates and bull bar and the XRC Comp 8 Winch. As cash is limited I am doing it in steps, center section first with a XRC Comp 8 winch and add the rest latter. Has anyone had any experience with this bumper? I like it because I can build it up piece by piece and the recovery tabs are also rated to be used as the tow bar connections. Not sure what size lights go in the end plates and I canít find the info on the website. Any problems with adding on the add-ons latter after the bumper is on or will it have to come off to install the add-ons?
