novata2ist Awesome build, very similiar to what I'm thinking for my '88. Where did you get the rear stretch corners?

Squeeze This thing is sick, I never would've even known where to begin with all the stuff you did to it, I give you insane props!

Shanekennett Well its been quite some time so I'll just dump some photos on here. Not a ton of new stuff, 8.8 with 4.10s installed, 36x12.50s

Shanekennett Well since it has been cold and snowing. I have spent tons of time in the mountains on my snowboards. Not many trails to ride right now so the jeep has been sitting. But i finally got a warm night and got motivated to get some stuff done. Check it out.

GenRight Corner stretch

TJ flares installed too

Smittybilt steps/rock sliders

Doors off

Pukeolicious lol, your jeep spends more time in surgery than on the road! The winch appears to get exercised regularly... At least you are having fun with it.
01-20-2012 12:42 AM
Shanekennett Well I have been slacking on photos so here are some. It's all back together and riding. Got new wheels on it too. I just ordered front tube flares, rear stretch corners, rock sliders and jb4x4 steering bracket so some good upgrades should occur in the next week or so. For now tho...

Also got new wheels on the tow rig due to unfortunate circumstances with a concrete barrier wall and a blown out tire. long story...

Shanekennett Well finally got sometime and got going on fixing this ole girl

Upper balljoint shaft pulled right out of the socket

Lower balljoint hole needs to be cleaned out a bit

Destroyed axle shaft

Going to try to bend this back today
11-18-2011 12:15 AM
Shanekennett I don't completely know. It most likely was the 20 mph speed off a drop off a 4 ft drop into a 2.5 ft deep hole
11-17-2011 09:30 PM
kmanator Damn!...that's some carnage...what bent the springs...axle wrap?
11-14-2011 09:18 AM
Shanekennett Bent stock wagoneer spring

Bent Alcan wagoneer spring

11-13-2011 09:29 PM
Shanekennett Well I went wheeling but I broke a few things

All passenger side. Bent front leaf spring. Sheared rear leaf spring eye bolt. Ball joints pushed out and ruined. Snapped u joint and then axle shafts.

Nice jeep and great build

I set the pinion angle at 6-7 degrees. I first put the axle on stands, then I used one gauge to set the stock perches at 0 degrees, measured the pinion and caster there. Then i put it under the waggy springs and jacked it up so the weight was on them. I then measured the stock perch again and corrected the pinion/caster until it was the same as factory.

The alcan springs were used and made for a wagoneer. picked them up for roughly 100$

Good luck with ur build, it really didn't take too long. I pulled everything out and cleaned the mud and grime off to paint it first so that was time consuming.

Shanekennett So i got the SOA 98% done. Got some small things to finish up. I am sitting at 98" wheelbase. I am taking it trail riding on saturday sooo....

Front end sitting pretty:

Already for the test drive, here are the best pics I could get at night:

Rear with the wagoneer stretch, I bought some TJ flares which will be going on to make the tire look centered again:

My only problem which will be fixed tomorrow with longer rear shackles:

Shanekennett TEST DRIVE!!! Pics to follow soon. Sitting on 33x12.50's as we speak
10-27-2011 12:59 AM
Shanekennett Well I got the brake lines done. Had to put a new hardline on the passenger side rear. Got new ubolts on it and finished everything but the driveshafts. Getting mine lengthened tomorrow. I am considering going with 33x12.50s for flexing purposes. What do u think? I am putting TJ flares on it to make the tire look centered.:
