TnDz TJ I agree... if he is young... looks are more important that protection most likely. Alot could be said for a 2" budget boost lift and a little bigger of a tire... here is an example of what $130 for a 2" BB lift and $100 for 31" A/T's off Craigslist can do in a VERY short period of time. A total of $230 for everything.... RIGHT IN YOUR BUDGET! Timing has EVERYTHING to do with it on Craigslist though....

Hoosier All good ideas! Thanks folks - I really appreciate it. I'm going to look into the safari top idea a little more. But again - several good suggestions I can look in to.

thejackcutts If he is younger, he would probably want to improve the current "look" rather than protect it with skids. I'm not saying skids aren't a good idea though.
Buy him a bunch of bedliner rattle cans and tell him to go to town! Haha
Maybe something like the plastic dimondplate guards... Recovery equipment... Like erick said, lights or seat covers, there's too muchstuff for us people!

erickpl Steel wheels
Sound system
rocker guards
gas tank skid
aux lighting
safari top and header channel for it
seat covers

Lots of choices in that price range.

You could even do, as mentioned above, a budget boost lift (spacers and longer shocks) for about $200 or a bit more.

TJ Christmas help please

My son has a 2000 Sahara he just purchase a couple of months ago. Pretty much stock (green with tan hardtop).
Anyway, do you TJ owners have any suggestions I could get him for Christmas for his TJ? (approx $250 total). I know his "wish" is to lift it and get custom wheels/tires in the near future. We want to go wheel'n together when he moves back here to GA in a couple of months.
Thanks in advance!
