Rawkon make sure you put atf 4 or synthetic back in that auto trans.

tazmann910 Mine looks the same way and I have an 03 with 43K miles on it. I thought the same thing that maybe a gasket was going bad, I guess I will not worry about it.

nicolas-eric my oil pan looks like that every time, but the tranny doesn´t loose any oil.
mine is a 06 TJ with only 8500 mls.
i think i´ll clean it after i was wheeling next saturday. want to see if the oil comes back when it´s clean.

AzTJ With 60k+ on it, I would look into getting the tranny serviced. A flush and refill with a new filter should be a good thing and will probably take care of the leak.

NY94YJ Wow, thanks for the fast replies.

I'm looking at this jeep to purchase, and that's the only small issue I could see. I don't think it's leaving puddles....... just seeping......I'm used to seepage though...I have a 94 YJ

So before I rob the bank just wanted to know if that's normal....cuz I don't want to buy an Auto Tranny problem.

Thanks again.

nicolas-eric the left side of my auto tranny oil pan (drivers side) looks like there is some oil on it. it looks tike it´s a bit wet all the time. but i never had any oil on the ground. i think it´s there from an auto tranny oil change they made on warranty when i had some shifting problems.

i take a look at the tranny oil level every week for obever 3 months but it never changed.

Triple88a just check your oil regularly and you should be fine.
By that i'm assuming you're saying the pan is barely wet and not leaving huge puddles around on the ground...

Rawkon id worry about it if its leaving a puddle in your driveway

Automatic Transmission Oil Seepage

Q: Is a little seepage on the tranny oil pan normal or worrisome?

I'm figuring just a Gasket issue, but would like to pose the question to those who know.

This would be in regards to an 03 TJ, Auto with 62K.

Thanks All.
