My rebuild is on this forum...

If you want to see my YJ V6 conversion, it is now on this forum. Look up "YJ V6 Conversion swap". I am almost finished.

stykthyn I guess as long as you have the 4.3 it may be worth your time but for the same amount of effort you can put in the 5.3 which IMHO is a much much better engine. Just my .02
I happen to have a warmed over 302 from my last mustang build sitting around, as much as I love the LSx I will likely go the 302 route as I have one laying around.

1SAS If you want a thread to look at for this build, try Jeep Forum and look up "YJ V6 conversion" by 1SASjeepster. I have spent the past few years doing it and documented it, for those who might be interested. I think if you go through the thread, it will answer many of your questions.

Take care,

Lancem I did a 4.3 swap into my 88, love it. I pretty much took the whole drivetrain and harness and installed it. Gets better mileage than my 4.2 did and has more power too. Here's my build thread that shows most of what I did which was a bit more than just swapping engines

Fweaky Novak and Advance Adapters web sites have some very good info for starters.

2.5 4 cyl. to a 4.3 V6 swap.

I just got a rediculously good deal on a '95 Wrangler. $700 and I drove it on the trailer - not an ounce of rust on it. Anyway, it has the 2.5 4 cylinder in it and while it runs and drives excellent (86,000 miles), I cant help but to sit here and ponder engine swaps. I happen to have a 4.3 V6 I pulled from a wrecked Blazer and I'm thinking about using it. The biggest tire I will probably put on the YJ is a 37" so I think maybe a V8 swap would be a bit overkill. Anyone out there done this swap and if so, any pointers? I just got done helping with a 5.3 V8 swap into a '93 YJ on 44s so I'm pretty capable but just kind of curious if anyone has done the 4.3 swap.
