Anyway, here is my 99 2.5L with 3" zone suspension lift (strongly recommended) and Falken Rocky Mountain ATS's in 32x11.5x15

I personally like the gearing ratio with the 4cyl and 31's. For a 90% DD, I really don't see the need to go to 32's other than the looks of a bigger tire.
Years ago I had 32's and I remember having a little more clutch slippage getting things movin.

|thecheezman||Currently have 31s on my 03 2.4l, with a zone 3'' lift and I have no complaints. I want to run 33s, but I don't want to re-gear. I think 32s will be my choice. The 4cyls have 4.11 gearing so I think Ill be fine, or I at least hope I will be.|

I was running 31" M/T then switched to 32" BFG A/T...Not the most power, but not weak either...I have a 2" BB from Zone. Good cheap lift with new shocks

Thanks, Owen_TJ! I was worried about the 4-bangers ability to cope with 32"s, but I think I'm going to be ok.
Now, I'm guessing I'm going to need a small lift. I was looking at the rough country 2.5". Jeep TJ Suspension Lift . Seems like it would be enough.

I run a 32x11.5x15 on my 99 as well...
I'm at work at the moment so i'll post a couple pics for you when i get home as well as a longer reply...
but in town driving isnt bad at all, i only hit a couple problems when i go on the hwy and hit an incline...
no regrets doin it though...
My vote for tires: Falken Rocky Mountain ATS's

|Toofer||I have the 32" BFG AT on my 99 4 banger. I went up from a 31" tire and didn't notice much difference. This is my daily driver and they are nice and quiet and ride smooth. I had them on a previous Jeep and they wear really well too.|

|scottunzicker||So... Firestone Destination 31"s or BFG 31"s or 32"s?|

|arcountryboy||I've got 31 mud kings on mine now, I did not notice a huge difference going from stock, to 30's , to 31's. When my 31's wear out I am putting 32" TSL's on.|

Which 31"s or 32"s on a 4 Banger?
I'm currently running el cheapo 30"s on my '99 4 banger stick. It's my daily driver, which means I'm 90% on road. I DO want, in order of importance, durability/tread life, wet traction, off-road capability, won't TOTALLY sap my limited 4 banger power, and reasonable value.
Basically, I'm down to either 32" OR 31" BFGs (the A/Ts), or the 31" Firestone Destination A/Ts.
