|mrkswthwrth||I'm working on building a tub mounted swing out tire carrier for my yj out of the old track bars I took off when I lifted it. Would anybody be interested in a write up before I get too far into the build?|

Im my earlier post I said I didn't need the washers. I was wrong. If I don't use the washers the bushing inside the rubber is the same size as the head of the lock pin. Which allowed it to come disconnected. With the washers in place that is impossible. A disconnect is just a easily removed mounting pin. With the disconnects your able to take them off by pulling the cotter pin on the end. No tools required.
I was in a hurry so only installed 1 pin. Hope that's enuff for you to get the idea.
Heres a pic of the disconnect in place on the passenger side. Driver side is just the same

|Iceman||Not sure that burner cover would stand up to the winds at driving speeds, but interesting idea.|

Just started searching different ways to cool engine compartment....this is one I came up with.
I prefer doing my own mods........The louvers just aren't my thing.

|TJspeed||To each they're own. A louver would have looked a lot better and functioned the same. If you where having cooling issues did you try a coolent flush? Your jeep obviously cooled just fine from the factory.|

Solved my cooling issues with a bigger fan....so this is kinda a moot point.....but it would have worked well....and who knows....I may put it in at a later date. will paint black.
Heavy duty speaker grill...10"
Electric range eye cover....11"

|Double_a914||I love the black grill. I had mine plastidipped for a year and bed lined it in the spring. For one it covered up the rock dings and two it will help protect from future ones.|

Went to Tractor Supply Co. and bought some pins to be used for quick disconnects. Got to stop by Walmart and get some black steel leaders in the fishing section now. Can use them to tie the sway bar links to the sway bar and so out of the way.
Disconnects; $4.00 each
Leaders; roughly $3.00
P.S. didn't need the washers for the disconnects after all. Besides they made little tinkling noises with the washers on. Ill get installed pics if anyone wants.

started my stinger bumper! just got a 3/16inch sheet of plate steel and bent it to a 90 degree angle on the top and a 45 degree on the bottom to function with the stinger and act as a steering box guard. can't wait to keep working on it!
link to build forum:
it will be coming along, but fairly slowly.. hoping to have it done within the next couple of weeks! want to build a rear bumper with a tired carrier next
