AzTJ The more common conversion is from a Grand Cherokee ZJ with either a D35 or D44A. IIRC, its a direct swap other than needing a new proportioning valve.

JCS05Rubi You could always just "do it once, do it right" and get the Vanco disc brake upgrade kit for the D44. That way if you ever run larger tires, you dont have to worry about your brakes being crappy. Hell, ive thought about doing it on my 31" tire rubicon, just because the brakes arent close to my old camaros and I get myself in trouble sometimes

OffRDer yea the rear disc brakes from any year TJ with a D44 rear will fit! i've been looking to do the same thing, but figured its not really worth the $200-$275 and 3 hours of my time to do right now, go buy parts from a junk yard. theres a LOT of write ups on this, search drum to disc, on this very site and you'll get a few, and some links to other sites

Rear Disc Brakes?

hello,

i hate cleaning the rear drum brakes every time i was in deeper mud. thatĀ“s why i think about installing rear disc brakes.
i habe a rear D44.
will the brakes from some other jeep models fit?
which ones?

is there a good write-up in the internet?
