thats what I was thinking.

some of the older cj's came with the d44's stock. I dont know how common or rare they were but my 74cj5 that originally had a 304v8 has one and my 73cj5 that has a I-6 has a d44

1BLKJP I'm pretty sure that the TJ 44's are longer than even the wide track CJ axles. However you might have an aftermarket 44 in there as I thought the only option even for the V8 back in the 70's was the Model 20?

will a axle shaft from my tj's rear d44 work in my 74 cj5's rear d44?
