Sad that Chrysler is cutting everyone off when they have a great tool already in place that works and people find very valuable. I wonder what the real reason is.?

Probably some territorial power-tripping "C" level idiot that wouldn't know a good business decision if it bit him in the ass decided to punish the most loyal group of Jeep customers they have (us and other forum users) because he feels his toes were stepped on. I fail to see the harm this could cause. Oh well. C'est la vie.
LOL, I have always thought of "C" level people to be the top.. CEO, COO, CFO... act,

We were off by a few days. I ordered 10/17, got scheduled for build 11/10, and it was built yesterday (11/22.) VOTS shows it as being on its way today.

I am glad that it was built on a Tuesday and not the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. No idea if it's true that Monday-/Friday-built JK's have more problems or not, but why tempt faith?

Hope we both get ours very soon!

VOTS was spot on for me, so hopefully it means they've worked out the kinks.

Having said that, I did enjoy Insight's level of detail much more than VOTS' level of detail

I mean to say: what comes first - the hot GF or the hot JEEP.
She might fear the JEEP, your relationship with the JEEP is a lot more simple, a JEEP does not complain, Gas and GO, You can ride your JEEP whenever you like, unlike most GFs.
Also GFs are a lot higher maintenance over time.
LOL.. reminds me of a why a beer is better than a woman poster I read once. For sure my brilliant little hottie engineer gf (soon to be fiancé) comes first every time but she is going to look good in a jeep!!

She may get a little jealous though.. I have been spending an obscene amount of time looking at various accessories for a jeep I have yet to drive. The other night she walked in the room and I shut my Macbook so fast you would think I was looking at XXX sites Ya I know I’m getting crazy but its so much fun!

Biggest problem so far.. she thinks its not safe for me to drive without the doors on … The closest I can come to compromise on this is to put on the tube doors when she’s in the jeep.

The model/color/options you choose play a role, the various logistical timing of the assembly line and delivery methods, parts availability at the factory, etc., etc.

Frankly, it all comes down to luck. Personally, I'd rather get exactly what I want and wait an extra 6-8 weeks (the average, I'd say) than settle on even one option - but not everyone's like that.

FWIW, I ordered on 10/6, it didn't even get scheduled for production for a month (11/4), it wasn't built until 2 weeks after that...and it's still "Staged for Shipment" - whatever that actually means. It'll probably be here next week, just shy of 2 months. I suspect (but could never prove) that if I had ordered it right at the end of October, I still would have gotten that early Nov production slot (based on the combination of stuff I ordered being built at that time) - and my total order time would have been just 4-5 weeks....but that's just an educated guess.

The other plus to ordering is you get to research mods for about two months and order stuff to have ready and waiting when the Jeep gets here! I've already bought tires, rock rails, headlights, canvas cargo liner, the lockpick/camera, and a few other things...

I have a feeling this one is going to cost me I started wanting a base sport and now I'm ordering a dual top (dozer) sahara with 730 nav and leather.

My wish list at Quadratic is getting a bit out of control.... SO EXCITED!!

Now if I could just get the GF to share my excitement

jsb432 Looks like the party's over. Was working for me until sometime this afternoon/evening, now I get the security message. Boooooo. My dealer stinks, so it looks like I'll just have to wait around for the phone call (last Insight update this morning, the thing had been staged for shipment for the last 5 days, so maybe it's better that I don't know about the delays).

Not as glad as I'll be!! I understand that I'm not your only customer and sometimes you get busy. At least you are responsive and answer all my many nagging questions.

As far as VOTS goes, it sucks! I got one email from you when you first put in the order, never got the second email with the tracking information, or the being shipped to you email. If it wasn't for the forums here I wouldn't have even known about checking VOTS. VOTS showed Production Scheduled and then Shipment with no stops in between. I like being able to look at Insight and see all the different steps it takes to build and deliver a Jeep to a customer. If they could combine the two it would be a great system.

I am glad I got to follow the progress of my Jeep being built and shipped. It made me feel like I was a special customer like when I saw my name on the window sticker (I am having it laminated).
I am sales manager for a small national company and I know what makes customers happy. This ain't it.
Like I said, it's not perfect yet. for those still waiting for there Jeep to be built keep using it while you can. I hope they get it corrected soon. But at the same time, I like being able to send the updates myself to my customers, it keeps me busy in the slow times of the day. BagerX2 Well I got two emails from Chrysler, had to call to get my vin. My VOTS doesn't work properly. My dealer hasn't called or emailed me any status . All I have to go on is insight so this news sucks.

same here, I had my jeep three weeks when I received an email stating that my jeep had been shipped and should be arriving at the dealership soon.
I took a look at the calendar, and notice it was not April fools day... I thought my jeep came with a bonus 2nd jeep.

ShaneDiddy Yea that susks bad. I havent gotten any emails from chrysler for either of my orders...and my dealer was great for ordering and makung a deal...but horrible after that for updates....if I call he just says no updates yet......i usually am the one tellung him where it is and when it dhould be here cause he doesnt check....heck I even gave him my vin after calling the jeep number....i would have been stressing and lost without insight.
10-22-2011 12:51 PM
ladyjane It is too bad they are going to block us from Insight. While it would be nice to pick a salesman with excellent customer service, that just isn't always possible. (Maybe because there are only a handful of salesmen like that?) I would have no idea about my order if not for Insight. I ordered 8/19 -- finally got a call a week or so ago. I had left messages, sent emails, etc. I knew from Insight it was D1, but it has now been D1 since 10/11.

If anything, it seems Chrysler would want to create a system that sends owners more information.

Oh, I have received ZERO emails from Chrysler.

My JKR was marked "shipped" on Oct. 6 and I still don't have it (Tucson, AZ). Chrysler did send me an email telling me it had been shipped. I called my dealer two days ago and asked for my salesman. He doesn't work there anymore. Got another salesman. He told me that it is probably in the railroad yard in Phoenix waiting to get enough to haul to the dealer here. I can see that, but it is also frustrating.
