Now you're talkin! Very well done. On the picture from e-Bay it looks like your 2000 Jeep right? A couple of questions though.
1 - Can you do the top in a smoked plexiglass?
2 - With the TJ, there are rails with channels in the top around the doors. Will your top slip into those rails?
3 - Does your top come with the front clamps or, how is it secured?
Thanks for being creative and simple at the same time!

Here it is! A Bikini Hard Top!
Looking for a bikini hard top still?
I have a 2000 model Jeep Wrangler Sahara. I Love this Jeep its by far the most versatile, fun to drive, dependable vehicle I've ever had. Nothing like pulling the top and doors off except, of course, splashing through the mud with them on.
I always liked the look of a bikini top but not really the canvas.
Heck I've been in this business along time. Building things for lots of people.
So I built my own.
I just listed one on Ebay. Check it out!
I am a custom plastic fabricator with over 30 years experience.
I can custom build almost anything you can think of.
If you can conceive it, I can achieve it.
Got ideas of your own for a Jeep product or any other vehicle?
Maybe I can help? Just Email me either from this forum or my Ebay ad.

|John in Vegas||Are you talking like the Sunrider soft tops, but instead of flipping it would just slide towards the back and then lock on top of the back of the hardtop?|

I'd like a bikini-type top that would cover the front half of the two-piece hardtop - something that would cover the whole opening but still be stowed inside the cab. (My biggest single gripe about the TJ is that you can't get that front panel inside.)
It should clip into the windshield channel, and have flaps to overlap the tops of the doors. How to attach the rear, I'm not sure - either another bow that would clip into the rear channel, or long straps to go over the top and around the taillights. I'd even consider mounting eyes on top of the fixed part.
If I can find a trashed hardtop, I might consider building one of these over the winter.

I guess I can see how that would work for you out there but we are getting ready for Ol' Man Winter back here---25* here this am.

IMO I think it would be easier to take on and off, not that the bikini is hard by any means. I recently bought some Safari Straps (sides & top to the speaker bar) and I can't run the bikini because mine cups the speakers. It just got me thinking is all and well, if you were in my head you'd understand but it would be a scary place. I digress. After looking more I thought a smoked plexiglass top would be bitchen!
Not trying to fix what ain't broke I'm just always looking at new ways to do things.
I tried searching Jeep half cab but other than the one mentioned earlier, all are soft tops. I'll keep hunting though.

Very cool but still not quite there. I'm just looking for the bikini top, not one that encloses the cab.
Also, very sorry for my stupid spelling blunder on my earlier post. Obviously meant to say JK's, not KJ's.

There is a thread already on this idea--thread tittle is "cheaper than the Brute option" I saved it 'cause it is another "eventually" for my TJ--probably---the name of the company is
GR8TOPS Half Hardtops

Yeah, I know the KJ's have it but what's the holdup with companies like Bestop and others making one. It would be just like any removable hardtop for the 100's of cars out there that have this feature.
I for one, would definately pay $200-400 for something done right!
I also like the idea of going to a local glass house and seeing if the'll consider making a plexiglass piece.

|Vin||JKs w/ hard tops already come with one|

|ArmyCop||If my $$$ situation ever gets better I plan on going to a local Auto Glass & Upholstery shop and seeing if they can order and cut to fit a sheet of Dark Plexiglass to fit between the front windshield, doors and roll bar. Maybe have them drill holes in various places on each side and get some long zip ties to hold it in place. If its done right I can leave it there whether top's up or down.|

Bikini Hardtop Anyone?
Maybe it's just me but I can't figure why someone hasn't made a fiberglass or even aluminum bikini top. There's a company making a Skytop for JK bu I'm rollin an 05 Rubicon Unlimited.
Can someone enlighten me as to why not or guide me to where I can find such a top?
