This is truly amazing <rant about engineering will be contained within these brackets> . So I'm roughly looking at around 1000.00 in aftermarket drive shafts so I can have the ability to replace u-joints in the future?

This is good to know so I don't have an OEM shaft put on and have to pay 835.00 again later. I called the dealer and yes, the front drive shaft is 835.00 Thanks for the info

phottomatt sounds like a good opportunity for an upgrade.

Cons_Table I am not familiar with JKs, but what kind of play is it? Is it rotational? Or up and down? If it is a rotational "play" this is normal and nothing out of the ordinary...at least it is on TJs

JK Dana 30 front drive shaft

I have some play in my front drive shaft and was going to have the u-joints replaced. The shop says the JK front drive shaft is non-serviceable and a new drive shaft needs to be ordered.

Does anyone have any experience with the design of these shafts and know why there's no way to repair? Is the rear shaft also non-serviceable?

Thanks for any experience or input
