NateD I know on my 91 yj, the front axle is supposed to spin in 2wd, thats with the vaccum system, yours is probably fine., like tom said, just jack it up if your font wheel spins you transaxle shift linkage is messed up.

tomjohn777 Yes, I have a one piece axle shaft, and the drive shaft spins. try jacking up your jeep, both front wheels off the ground at same time. and spin the tires they should be independent of each other

Nickabis The previous owner could have swapped in one piece axle shafts, that would make the front drive line to spin always.

Jeep716 If front shaft is turning t case is in 4wd. May need a linkage adjustment.

in 4 wheeel drive ?

Ive just aquired my first jeep a 94 wrangler. the shift selector is in 2 wheel drive however the front driveshaft is spinning also.is this normal?
i just rebuilt the tranny .I didnt mess with the transfer case just took it off the tranny and put it back on.the flat bar lever attached to the transfer case is at the 12 oclock position.any help would be appreciated
