JPi1 Here's my 08 with a 4" RE longarm, 4.88 gears, 35" MTRs, new f&r driveshafts, longer brake lines, sway bar extension links, HD trackbar, just a few things you need for a lift.
37" shoes will need 5.13, or 5.38 even better.
Plan on some way to air up your tires after you deflate, like a viair compressor.

your not trimming the fenders its the huge dumbo ear flairs. you just trim the sides so there is more room for the tire.

Rubicons come with some nice parts but the steering linkage and track bar are the same and are not designed for higher level wheeling. Also the rock sliders and skid plates are thin compared to the aftermarket components.

as for gear ratio 5:13 is where its at

4Jeepn The rubicon axles, just like the stock axles are known to flex with bigger tires, hence things like a truss, tube inserts are good ideas. Not to mention have you driven or rather tried to stop a jeep on 37's with the stock brakes? I would upgrade to some better rotors/pad blackmagic/ ebc etc. the rubi come with rock sliders as I recall, but over all with the big tires comes a big list of factory parts that are not made to support those big tires.

Vtlaxsocr12 Ok so still the 3.5 inch lift, and I definitely plan on wheelin, that's the only reason I'm getting the lift because stock just isn't cuttin it for me. But ima need all those things even if I already have a rubicon? And to add to my earlier comment, I was thinking about putting a 4.88 gear ratio on it, is that right?

Irongrave the lift will clear 37s if you do a little trimming on the plastic flairs. hell 35s fit stock height on JKs.

do you plan on wheeling your jeep or just for looks. because if you wheel you need

poly preformance's tie rod
an aftermarket track bar
lower control arm skids
belly pan of some sort
rock sliders
gears in the axles
trussed and gussets on the axles

I've got a good friend with a 10 and those are all the parts he's broken or added to his rig and he's on 35s. he wheels harder then most of the guys on here with built TJs but the stock JK parts do not like rocks at all

Vtlaxsocr12 Ok so the 3.5 lift is only going to be able to hold 35s. I've saved up enough money for the 37 inch tires that I want and I have more money for the lift that I've saved up, but I just need to know what I need to do to be able to put those 37s on my jeep.

Irongrave 37s and budget do not go hand in hand. also you'll need gears the 4:10s are too high for 35s on the highway.

Lifting my jeep rubicon

I just recently got a 2011 jeep rubicon, and so I'm pretty new at the whole jeep thing. That being said, I want to lift my jeep and have no idea which or what kinda lift to get. I want to put 37 inch tires on it, and I had been looking at the skyjacker 5inch economy lift, but apparently after reading another post, that lift is a piece of junk. I'm kinda under a budget, but that being said, I would much rather save up and pay for a good lift that is going to be worth the money, than a cheap bad lift that is going to cause me a ton of problems in the future. I would also like to know what I would need to do to my jeep if I do get a lift as big as 5inches, because I have a rubicon so the driveshafts should be able to pull the tires, but other than that I need to know what else I'm going to have to do to it. I appreciate any advice.
